When I was a kid ,my father used to play the original songs in these CD's on the 78 rpm records.Then my sister bought the original Reader's Digest LP albums.During the 70's I heard these music again on their instrumental versions.I was told that these were from Reader's Digest U.S. album.One day in January 2000,I accidentally found these boxed set albums..amazon.com, without hesitation I immediately ordered and bought it.True to its form, when I played the selections,it automatically brought back ,memories...the best music of yester years now in better digital version.I highly recommend the CD boxed set..don't buy the individual CD, it will cost you more....grab it before it becomes "LABEL OUT OF STOCK!"

This is a great collection of more of this Readers' Digest series of beautiful music or easy listening as some call it. All these sets are very consistent with their excellent quality in both musical selections and production.

This set focuses on piano, of course with orchestra. If you like the "great American songbook," then you will know many if not all of the songs. The set is a compilation of tracks, all with the standard excellent, first-class production values. Buy this set and put it on your cd player, turn down the lights and pour a glass of wine. Then relax and enjoy the music. These songs are also played on some online radio stations like Airstream FM

If you are looking for PIANO versions of these songs, DO NOT BUY THIS COLLECTION! Sure the songs have piano, but also drums, saxophone, violins, - an entire orchestra! The point is, this is not just piano. The title is misleading. Another thing I do not like about the songs is they are highly "stylized". If you want simple, straight-forward, traditional versions of these songs, this set is not for you. I do not recommend this set.
