Book Description

Love ... With A Side Of Psycho! Just how well does anyone really know the one they love? In this heart-pounding psychological thriller, a newlywed's unusual obsession surfaces while on honeymoon.

Young newlyweds Todd and Bridget are very much in love -- soul mates, embarking on their dream of a happy-ever-after life together. There's nothing these two wouldn't do for each other. But then, Bridget learns bizarre and alarming things about Todd and sees an unbelievably frightening side of him; a side that he's felt he had no choice but to keep hidden from her until their honeymoon. Todd has high hopes and wants nothing more than for Bridget to understand and be part of his world.

As Bridget struggles whole-heartedly to put their future back on track, and their idyllic romance begins careening further and further out of control, the events that unfold will put their sanity and love for each other to the ultimate test.

In a struggle between love and madness, which one will prevail? "Into the Arms of Madness" is a perilous tale that will keep you locked in its embrace until the last page.

From the Author

The spark of the idea for "Into the Arms of Madness" arose from a story my father told me about an arranged marriage where the daughter was speaking to her mother and saying, "but I don't know him.  I don't love him. How can I marry him?" and the mother replied, "it doesn't matter because no matter who you marry, you will find that the day after your wedding, you are married to a different person, that they have changed.  Love comes after."
The part about them being a different person became the basis for the story's opening.  It got me thinking and I ultimately began exploring what might happen to love (how unbreakable it is or is not) when someone learns things,  earth shattering things, they never realized about their soul mate, and whether love is stronger than fear or the shackles of mental illness.  The story grew organically from there into a love story and psychological thriller.  That originating spark is reflected in the book's first lines: "They say the morning after your wedding you wake up to a different person, someone who looks like the one you married, but who has begun to change in some subtle way.  You can't put your finger on it, but you can feel the difference just the same."

A young man spends much of his time in a fantasy world, but falls in love in this world. As he has gotten older, the character Todd has become more at odds with reality and his fantasies have become darker. He can't tell when he is in his fantasy world and when he is in the real world. Now married to Todd, Bridget learns about her new husbands condition. She feels she is not being told everything. She suspects Todd may have actually committed murder during one of his "fantasies" and that he and his parents are covering it up. From this a nightmare reality forms forcing Bridget to decide just how much she trusts her love for Todd.

It's not often that I cannot figure out exactly where a story is heading but Regina Pacelli surprised me time and time again!

From the moment I started reading Into the Arms of Madness I literally did not put it down until I was completely finished which was just an hour before I had to get up and start my day!

This is an exceptionally well written book that will leave you fulfilled while begging for more. I definitely feel as if I got my monies worth...and then some.

I am a fan of the phrase “You never really know someone”, which this book takes to a whole new level. It is an excellent mix of all the different sides a person can have, some that we love, some we despise, and some that are truly terrifying. Into The Arms of Madness drew me in as you root for newlywed Bridget’s commitment to unconditional love, yet fear for her safety while she tries to manage her husband’s strange and scary illness. This is a fast-paced psychological thriller—that has a nice mix of horror too. While the read may be fictional, it leaves you contemplating love and relationships.

This suspenseful little tale was quite an engrossing read! The Author delivers her story with a perfect blend of Mystery, strong, relatable characters, flowing dialogue and a unique plot that has you guessing all throughout the story the exact motives of not only the characters but, the author as well. I was pleasantly pleased with the fact that I could not put it down yet, it moved along seamlessly and quickly so I didn't have to.

The author provides her readers with an engaging plot that becomes quite thought provoking. How well do you really know a person? I feel that all people keep many aspects of themselves hidden from others. As much as you think you `know' someone else, in reality, you really only know what they `want' you to know. That is a simple fact.

I found the Flow of the dialogue to be excellent and engaging...with a natural tone to it. I found myself immersed in the vivid scenery and emotional entanglements as each scene progressed unto the next. This author knows her craft and it is brilliantly portrayed in the way this story unfolded.

For her first fiction book, Regina Pacelli effortlessly leaves a new reader with a Memorable `First Impression'. This new author certainly showcases her seasoned writing skills and creativity in a way that pulls the reader into her story by dropping subtle hints to keep you guessing laced with little tidbits to keep your curiosity peaked.

As Far as the `storyline' goes I really can't reveal too much because it would `spoil' it for new readers. I really liked `Bre' but, found myself thinking many times ... `What are you thinking girl?' ... I guess I'm just too seasoned in `real life' to be able to think I would ever stick around and await the insane, new hubby's surprises!

2.0 out of 5 stars Seriously? No... January 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition

Well, Into the Arms of Madness, was my first let down of the year, which saddens me quite a bit. I wish I had better news for you guys. The writing was flat, and so were the characters. I felt as though the first few chapters of the story just rambled, and it didn't get much better from there unfortunately.

Bre and Todd are newlyweds. The first time she meets his family is at their wedding. They are all a bit "weird" so-to-speak and standoffish. Todd doesn't talk much about his past or his first wife. With that said, what makes Bre think that marrying Todd is a good idea? Well, it didn't make much sense to me either. She doesn't even press him about it. Odd to say the least.

Oh, did I mention Bre is a vegan? No, I don't think I did. She isn't against killing animals for food, but because of all the additives and chemicals pumped into our meat before consumption is her reason. I believe she has only been a vegan for two weeks at this point.

They venture to a secluded cabin for their honeymoon. When they get to the cabin, Todd offers to cook which is out of the ordinary for him. Bre is shocked to realize that he has cooked her a small steak for dinner. He tells her the "beef" was organically fed, or something to that nature. She eats it and even compliments Todd on it. After dinner, his family shows up out of nowhere. Todd gives her some speech about his family's culture and way of life and how top-secret it is. Bre is a bit dumbfounded as to why he's just know telling her this stuff and why his family is present. Well, he pretty much just blurts out how she just ATE a human being! Wanna know what her reaction is? She smiles at him, and thinks how much she wants to just run away.
