5.0 out of 5 stars A Headstrong Journey
Without being verbose and yet recognizing the fact that Oliver Lieb deserves his proper respect, it is in my humble opinion that this disk is one of those pieces that will stand the test of time and forever change the way you think about music and where you go when you embrace it. 4.0 out of 5 stars Very different...., July 3, 2001
This review is from: Into Deep (Audio CD)
I'm used to oliver lieb creating trance/deeptrance tracks... when I bought this cd I was expecting something like the black album or Vol.2 but what I heard was oppisite of that. This was in the genre of ambience/chillout/trip-hop type music...and I liked it. I usually listen to this cd during stressful times at work to cool me down-it'r a relaxer. It's nice to see Oliver lieb try new types of music, this just shows that he's constantly expanding his skills. If you buy this cd and like it then go buy Thee-o's Reef Project, it's pretty laid back just like this cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most amazing down tempo CDs _ever_, November 6, 2000

Usually you could pick up an LSG 12" or CD and expect some really moody deep dark hard trance, with some minimalistic overtones.

HOLY ...! What a complete 180! Oliver Lieb (LSG) takes what should have been another "Black" Series and clouds your visions of reality with broken up beats and angelic spanish vocals.

This is THE down tempo of down tempo. I have used this CD quite a bit for sunrise sets, and have gotten "Who the ... is this?!" too many times to count.

The CD just flows from track to track with a seamlessness only seen before in the likes of Symbiosis (the best!).

Get this CD... I don't care if you have to wait 6 weeks for it... you will NOT regret this purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Astonishingly Beautiful with Maximum Replay Value, February 29, 2004

Into the Deep's journey of heart stopping beats, gratifying melodic excursions, and exquisite structure forces submission to total relaxation. Pure in form, concept, and execution; this is perfection of ambient chill trance.

Oliver Lieb, thank you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another triumphant trance-techno masterpiece by Oliver Lieb, July 21, 1999
This review is from: Into Deep (Audio CD)
Oliver Lieb is one of the true creative forces in contemporary electronic music. He records under several different names, including Spicelab, Paragliders, and in this case, L.S.G. As L.S.G., the music is lush, deep, sometimes dark techno/trance/ambient compositions that defy easy categorization. In this latest cd, the mood is more ambient, perhaps, and definitely less dark than in his previous *The Black Album*. The use of some spoken female vocals adds little to the music, but then again, it doesn't really detract from its impact, either. For fans of the BEST of contemporary electronic music, this cd is a must-have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Expecting pounding trance, well don't, August 15, 2002
By
This review is from: Into Deep (Audio CD)
This album by Oliver Lieb is just superb. Rather than using it to show off his masterful 4/4 orientated trance tracks, he has decided to do something completely different on this album.

Female vocals sung in Spanish, crunching rhythms, and melodic symphonies of electronic sound are all interspersed.

No track is abrasive or rough, all turn into beautiful melodic tracks with pounding drums and electronic percussion. The sounds which Oliver Lieb is able to produce from his machines are simply breathtaking and I have to ask the question, why aren't others making these beautiful sounds?

Well probably because they are not good enough to. Every track here has rich layers of programming. Something is going on at every level in the track and they all combine to form beautiful sound collages. Oliver is one of the best programmers and producers in the world and it's a shame that this album hasn't been talked about a lot more.

This album is another brilliant journey created and orchestrated by the god of trance Mr Oliver Lieb. A simple and stunning album that flirts on the precebus of trance and ambient music is the final product given to the masses and it sure as hell delivers. You will get a set of tracks here that are emotionally beautiful and calming with ocassional interjection of massive buildup trance tracks. its literally an accoustical roller coaster that feels like something is lifting your mind only to throw it right into the pit of deep trance.

In the end, you have an amazing and brilliant album thats relaxing, and at the same time very heart pounding. There is a little bit of female singing towards the end of the album that will leave you breathless. Its one of the most organically perfect fusions of female vocals with trance music. Welcome to half ambient half trance rollercoaster journey. A+

5.0 out of 5 stars Oliver Lieb's ambient trance masterpiece, April 3, 2008
This review is from: Into Deep (Audio CD)
This is simply one of the best ambient trance albums ever made. Like all the best albums this one takes a few listens to 'open up', but when it does... wow. There's complete cohesion (have no idea why someone called it on that score) and all of the songs flow into each other well. In fact, one of the most beautiful transitions I've ever heard between two tracks is on this album (leading into the title track towards the end). 'Into Deep' is Oliver Lieb's crowning achievement in my opinion - it's a stunningly atmospheric and timeless album. But make no mistake, Deep is the word here - and maybe it's just a bit too deep for some of the tranceheads who I think have missed the beauty at play under the surface.

I doubt it would be going too far to say that this is one of the best, if not the best, album of the year. Oliver Lieb is a masterful composer as each track flawlessly blends into the next. Beautiful ambience and lush soundscapes pervade this record. Not one person who I've recommended this album to has been disappointed.
