Psychotic Waltz was the seminal prog technical metal. However, they disbanded in 1997 which made their albums, each of them released under different labels, to become rare items. In 2004 Metal Blade has released all the four cds in two different packages. To this date, these packages became rare itens as well, just look at the prices they are being sold. However, they are worth. There are two different things to review: the re-released package and the albums them selves.

The new package contains 3 CDs:
------------------------------------------

Into The Everflow ( 2nd album)
Bleeding ( 4th and last album )
Plus Aslan and Everflow demos

Into the Everflow is perhaps Pyschotic Waltz darkest album while it is still their most progressive and technical album. At this time, they were established as one of the best new bands on metal.

Bleeding is a more groove based album, but in no means, less complex.

It is sad to see that these cds have become rare items because it indicates that Pyschotic Waltz became a very underground cult among metal fans. They had potential to be one of the top bands on the genre. They had a killer singer who also used to write great lyrics, they had a guitar duo that is hard to be beaten, drums and and bass ( Phil Cuttino replaced Ward Evans on Bleeding, maybe that is why it Bleeding has this grooving feeling ) were also superb. Yet, they remain undiscovered by many, and to them I address this review: take a look at PW, they are some of the finnest metal on earth.

Please see my other review of the other package A Social Grace/Mosquito for more info.

EDIT: Psychotic Waltz is back. Thank God, doing concerts and preparing a new album!

I stated in my review of Psychotic Waltz's other two releases how amazing of a band they are. This box set contains their 2nd and 4th albums. You really just need to listen to them to appreciate the music, my words won't cut. Go to YouTube and check out the albums. Get all four and get the two box sets that come with bonus goodies and the remastered versions of their albums. Highly recommended if you like prog metal and prog thrash.

I first heard Psychotic Waltz when I was a young teenager. To this day, I still listen to this CD and several others. They are truly a timeless band. I highly recommend this cd and all others!!!!!!
