Something was very wrong with this story. It started out as a flashback to a high school relationship between Jill and Holdin and then brought us to present day. Apparently, Holden always knew he was a Dominant but Jill never totally accepted that she was a submissive. She was afraid if she did accept it, he might not accept her totally but that was her own insecurity issues. Holdin brings her to this acceptance later on in this story.
Here is where the book made no sense. The story lets the reader know that Jill and her father were in trouble from these "bad" guys because Jill witnessed a murder. The car crashed. Her father died but she woke up pregnant with no memory. Then the story goes on to tell us that Jill's life is in danger from these "bad guys" but we never find out any resolve on what happens to them. We find out that one was killed and the other one is standing trial but her life could still be in danger and so could anyone connected to her.
After 15 years Jill shows up in Holdin's life again with their son, Drifter. Jill "supposedly" forgot Holdin after a car accident. Then suddenly, after another accident with glass in her skull, she has total recall. Huh???? Holdin is always trying to protect her but the author over does it with the "into his keeping" in way too many sentences. Yeah, we get it already.
The story didn't flow at times. I also agree with another reviewer. Why would Holdin use Jill's ass before her vagina is beyond me? They were so crazy about each other, it didn't make sense. He kept saying her first time vaginally would hurt but he didn't feel that way about taking her anally. Makes no sense.
