5.0 out of 5 stars This CD wasn't what I expected, It was better!, December 28, 2003

This review is from: Into the Light (Audio CD)
To get to the point, this is a really good CD. I expected a gothic sounding band like 69 Eyes, HIM or even The Sisters of Mercy, all of which I rather enjoy. While the CD does have a gothic feel to it, it would be a hindrance to label this as a goth CD. It is in fact so diverse in feeling that I wouldn't label it anything other than just plain good.
It gives off a very cool, jazzy, melancholy vibe. This CD is great mood music. To me, it has a very stylish feeling that creates both despondent and sublime moods. Each track is very well crafted. The Weeping Willows have a very unique robust sound, which is saying something in this day and age of pop star crap. The tracks I like best are Touch me and Falling. If I ever wanted to go to a Rat Pack styled gin joint and drink my woes away, this is the band I would want playing there. They would bring me down and yet make me realize that everything is copasetic in the end.

4.0 out of 5 stars Into the Light, January 29, 2010

This review is from: Into the Light (Audio CD)
Into the Light being Weeping Willows 3rd studio album and 2002 release and is a radical change from their first albums. The sound is a mix of pop and new wave. The lyrics are well-written and the best tracks are "Touch Me" and "Untouchable". The album is clearly influenced by bands like Ultravox and Depeche Mode. All the lyrics are included in the booklet but it does not contain a list over whom plays what. 4/5.

5.0 out of 5 stars A slap to the face, January 19, 2006
This review is from: Into the Light (Audio CD)
Well after going on with the Willows previous 2 albums you'd expect them to follow suit... but they don't. They slap you in the face & wake you up with not only a 50's vibe (which carried heavy on the first two cd's) but they 'pop' it up a bit & 'rock' it up as well. What a wake up to see this wonderful band evolve. i cant wait to see what they'll have to offer next!

This CD is an erie reminder of The Smiths, done to full perfection and with very romantic and sad lyrics. The music is fabulous. This is a very good first CD from The Weeping Willows.

5.0 out of 5 stars Their best album so far!!!, May 2, 2002
This review is from: Into the Light (Audio CD)
I think it's their best album so far. They have taken a big step since their second album. At first I did not like it , but as I began to listen to the album I realised that this is great!
