5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic journey into the unknown
This CD is amazing! I can't believe the level of craftsmanship displayed here... I have been listening to it non-stop for months and still seem to find new elements I didn't hear before.
This isn't easy-listening new age so much as classic electronic soundscapes. I'm not sure how Shawn Gill gets "discordant" out of this unless his tastes lean toward those...

3.0 out of 5 stars An above average New Age CD
This is an ok cd as far as New Age music goes. You can hear the influences of the New Age greats like Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze and Vangelis. But Paul puts enough of his own inprint on it to make it interesting.

If you're a fan of spacey New Age then this may be a disc you should listen to.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great, beautiful CD!!!, February 14, 2003

This CD is a beautiful collection of electronic music, very original. Reference points would be Jarre, TD, Vangelis, but
Ellis definitely has his own sound.
The music is very well written and performed. I have been listening to it non-stop for a month now. Highly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars May not be for everyone, but sure sounds sweet to these ears, December 27, 2002

I don't believe this cd was really meant to be "relaxing" but could be to some... its more of a journey... just go along with the ride.

1.0 out of 5 stars You may want to think twice about buying this disc., March 8, 2002

I bought this CD as a recommendation from the Echoes web site. Three of the other discs they suggested were very good but not this one. It has a discordant, chaotic sound and can hardly be called music. What I expected to be relaxing is instead irritating. I typically like the rhythmic, ambient styles of music but "Into the Liquid Unknown" is a disappointment.
