Book Description

May 24, 2004 Pendragon (Quality) (Book 2)
After ten months of traveling the Renaissance faire circuit, the Gypsies return to Pendragon & #8230 but the place they and many other rennies call the home of their hearts is a ghost of its former self. Friends have quit, structures aregone, the budget has been cut, shows and schedules have been tampered with & #8230 all thanks to Patty Kate, the micromanaging pink fluff head who usurped the old Entertainment Director's position. She's determined to makeher mark on her new domain, but every perky word that flees her lips sinks the cast's morale lower as one by one their traditions die. If that wasn't enough, Liam has been waiting ten months to pay Ryna back for stealing his love and causing him to break his bargain with the Shadow Fae. And now, with the Shadow Fae feedingon the rennies' discontent, he might just have his chance. Home may be where the heart is…but what happens when the heart is ripped from the home?

5.0 out of 5 stars Renaissance Faire Gone Bad!, August 6, 2004

Ryna and Phoenix return to Pendragon to find it under new management full of theatrical bubbling PINK energy, half the best acts gone and their gypsy vardo torn down. The mood among the rennies is gloomy and pessimistic, a mood cultivated and exploited by Liam and his Darkworld cronies. Yes, Liam is back and if you thought he was dangerous in "From the Ashes," he is truly frightening in "Into the Storm." The balance between the worlds is in danger and Ryna's soul may be lost forever.

Ms. Bruner has woven a roller coaster ride novel that has you holding your breath one minute and crying the next. In this sequel, she focuses more on the main characters and plot; and a bit less on the romance of the Renaissance Faire atmosphere and activities. Though the atmosphere may be missed, the Darkworld holds the reader captive as surely as it holds Ryna. A "must read."

This review is from: Into The Storm: A Faire-Folk Novel - Book Two Of The Pendragon Trilogy (Pendragon (Quality)) (Paperback)
Wonderful continuation of the Pendragon Trilogy. I was thrilled to step back into Pendragon Faire--this book delivered all I expected and more. Ms. Brunner has a way of making faire come to life. Wonderful story--tightly told--would highly recommend it.
