Book Description

American Dreams June 1996

Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 9 Up?Set in 1814, Into the Wind offers a plucky heroine, swashbuckling action, and a fast pace that will keep YA fans of historical romance turning its pages eagerly. Following a barroom brawl that results in the death of Rosie's father, the fiery destruction of the tavern itself, rescue by a dashing young sea captain, and a stunning first kiss, Rosie, 17, sets sail on a ship embroiled in battling the British Navy. En route, she faces more perils than Pauline as well as plots against her virtue. Throughout her breathless adventures, she proves more captivating than Shirley Temple, charming crew and a cruel captain alike. Nifty escape reading for romance fans.?Doris A. 4.0 out of 5 stars Awsome...but Weather the Change (third sequal) was better, September 1, 2000

Ok. Now I loved this book. I was spending the night at my friends house with her cousin when, before we went to bed, they were all talking about how Rosie and Radier are a perfect match and stuff. I just closed my ears cause it seemed so boring. A romance novel? Reading? Get real! I would never read a book (over 20 pages) unless a teacher threaten me to (which happens offten. Anyway I woke up at 7:00 and well they were not gonna wake up for another 5 hours (lazy bums) and so I made the mistake by picking up the book Into the Wind, By Jean Ferris and got halfway throgh when they woke up. From then on the book was glued to my fingers! I could not put it down! It's just too good! So when your done with this book (which I really recommend)pick up the sequal- Song of the Sea, which is a great book as well! And when you are done with that book- Weather the Change! That book is Da Bomb! They just get better and better....! I would lock myself in my basement (which is soundproof) and just read for hours straight! i had to take a different book to shcool in fear I was gonna lose it and not get to read the ending! Plus also I needed complete slince...so I wouldn't stand up in class and yell for everyone to be quiet cause if I did, I would get cussed out and sharp objects thrown at me...I love my school! Well thanks for reading my review if you got this far, which I highly doubt, and READ THE BOOK!

I LOVED this book. I've read it at least five times now.... and the story gets better and better with each sequel (Song of the Sea, Weather the Storm). The book just envelopes the reader in the story and is so enjoyable one can never put it down! It brought me to another place, a wonderful escape, such a sweet love story. Ahh if only it could be real, hehe. Great book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Into the Wind, January 5, 2002

I loved this book and all the rest of the series! The second and third books of the series may not be for younger readers but I loved them! As soon as I started reading "Into the Wind" I was deaf to the world. I love how I felt like I was IN the story, watching what was happening to Rosie and Raider first hand. I wish I could find these three books for sale somewhere, they're definitely worth the search! Anyway, I would highly recommend the whole series for a fantastic Young Adult Romance Series!
