This camera worked great in the pool and the Carribean Sea. The pictures were very good if you or your subject did not move too much. No water got in the camera case. Pictures of objects in the distance were distorted on the ends due to the camera case. I purchased this camera and a digital camera maskLiquid Image Exploer Series 3.1MP Underwater Mask - Digital Camera that cost $150. This camera took pictures almost as good as the $150 model. We used it for 2 weeks without troubles. Take lots of photos, or use the video for a minute or less. Larger video files can slow down computers during playback.

Intova Snap Sights Cam (SS-1000),

I found this camera to be a huge nuisance to use. Both photographer and subject must remain perfectly still or picture will be blurry..no forgiveness there. Unfortunately, this is always difficult with any water sport or activity. Also, the shutter button is very difficult to push (as are all of the buttons) and the overall size of the camera is very small, both adding to the difficulty of holding the camera still when taking pictures. Abundant light is required or, again, your pictures will come out blurry. Many of my photos were distorted, too. For example, my fishing pole in some pictures was wavy, likely caused by glare off the plastic case and, more so, distortion caused by light shining though the multiple (6) raised dots on the case (I suspect these are a novelty added to the case design to resemble water drops). The viewfinder is only about an inch square, so it is essentially impossible to use other than to get a general idea where your subject is located, especially for videos. It is difficult to see if the camera was still recording or not. Daylight makes it that much harder to see anything in it. Finally, it would frequently shut off. Not sure if this is a power saving function, but it became very irritating during use. I will cut my loses on this camera and buy something else. The only pluses I found with the product were the case remained water tight during use and USB download of the pics and videos is straight forward. Oh, there was no memory card included...the packaging states a memory card up to 2MB can be used. I purchased one seperately.

It does what it says, but you get what you pay for. Picture quality is very low, buttons are very hard to push (i'm no weekling either). 2gb Micro SD card DID NOT come with the product as it stated in the description.
I decided to purchase the Sony Cyber-Shot TX5 instead of using this. TX5 is much better. Product Features say: 2 G Micro SD Card included and USB compatible

There is nothing terribly special about this camera. It's better than nothing, but don't expect much out of it. You do have to hold still or else the image will be blurry and that it is pretty hard to hold still in the water with any kind of waves.
The video quality is pretty good. I thought it was a better video camera than still picture camera.

I didn't know what to expect from this small and cheap camera, since the simmilars that can operate at the same deep are much more expensive, but I was really surprised, because it has a good quality and is quite easy of use. Although I undersntand that its primary use is for videos (and allways when I turn on it it goes to video mode), it did several photos with good quality. Videos are also good, don't expect an excellent frame rate, but it has a good quality. The only point that is quite poor is that its small screen doesn't help too much underwater, it's quite difficult to see things on it specially if you are using a dive mask. But, as I said before, it worths its price.

Intova waterproof camera,

The only thing good with this camera is the waterproof case, it is really good. But all the rest are rubish. Camera arrived with 3 dead pixels, the image quality very poor, video sometimes jumps about 0.5~1 seconds, it sucks the batteries and it can turn off at anytime. I am not happy at all. This camera can be only a toy for kids.

Underwater loveliness!,

I love this underwater camera, it's affordable & take nice lo-fi shots too! - I would recommend it outside though 'coz shots made indoor are dark. One thing I wanted this camera to have in the future is an audio. Other than that, been loving it.

Not for small children,

I got these for my 6 years old and 8 years old children. I thought I can remove the cover to use above water, but "no", even when you are not using under water, you still need the cover in order to camera to function. Well, that's fine.... But the shutter and the buttons are super hard to push, my children are having very hard time clicking them, I think it might be no problems with adults. The camera quality is good for kids, but not be able to function with my kids due to the super hard shutter..... I should have payed more to get a little better ones.

You can use it for fun, it is really cheap. I used it to take pics in the pool and in the ocean.I took videos of fish, and they look pretty good.
The buttons are hard to push, but I think I will get use to it. It has LCD screen, not as big as I will like to, but it works. You can put a microSD for more pics. And it is lightweight. Usually waterproof cameras are really expensive, so this is a good option if you want to try photography under the water.

This a GREAT video camera. For still pictures, it is okay (so so, definitely not great). But hey, underwater video; 'it's all good.'
Ingenious simple design. |
