5.0 out of 5 stars Yet another Richard H Kirk side-project., March 5, 1999

This review is from: Intoxica (Audio CD)
Since amazon.com doesn't give any useful info, I'll give it: it's a double-cd, each disc at least 60 minutes long. Of all the stuff Richard H Kirk has released, no matter what name he records under (Cabaret Voltaire, Sandoz, Electronic Eye, Sweet Exorist, Trafficante, Dark Magus, Agents with False Memories, etc) this is the most dancefloor-friendly. An awesome techno-tribal-acidalbum. Buy it. Now.

3.0 out of 5 stars Kirk goes into dancefloor territory, August 18, 2001
By
This review is from: Intoxica (Audio CD)
A double album and an album full of hard techno rhythms and basslines.

This release sees Richard H Kirk take his sound firly onto the dancefloor. Though hard beats prevail, listen closer and you will hear much more going on underneath. Kirk never goes halves on programming and he is a master at it. that is what makes his albums so exciting, there is always something new about to happen in each of his tracks. Unlike most other electronic producers who allow their tracks to go on the same for a period of time before changing the bassline or beat, Richard loves to tinker with the sound and to surprise the listener. Why keep it the same when you can make it more interesting seems to be his motto.

So this is a good album but be warned unless your a big fan of Richard's music or you plan to dance a lot to this, it is not a great album just to sit back and listen to for the casual listener. It's tough and uncompromising but if you can see past that then you will be rewarded.
