5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent source... More than a set of charts!
Very usable in it's small page spiral format. Flipping pages as one cruises north or south is easy, and takes very little space at the helm. The annotations indicating marina locations save looking in separate guides when a stopping point is desired. Some obvious side trips (e.g. Banana River) are omitted and would have helped increase usefulness if included.

3.0 out of 5 stars Smaller
This book is a little compact making the charts smaller than other similiar chart books. It's a good reference to use in conjunction with GPS navigation and small enough to keep in the cockpit. It would be nice if it showed the locations of Marinas to keep you from switching from book to book. All of these charts can be accessed on line for free.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent up-to-date reference, April 10, 1999

The charts are well organized and very reliable. Only a minimum number of aids were missing or changed in number. Some of the bridge info is a little dated but generally did not cause any navigational problems.

Great book, you have to have them to run the intracoastal and it's MUCH cheaper at Amazon then in the bookstores - or boat stores!!

I recently bought a boat in Fort Lauderdale and brought it up to the Chesapeake Bay. I bought several guides but this was used the most. It also shows clearly anchorage areas. It is small and compact and you flip the pages as you go along. I marked it up and after the journey it can be thrown away. I also had a set of larger size maps that cost a lot more but only used them 2 or 3 times. This compliments the waterway guides and also compliments Skipper Bobs. GREAT CHARTBOOK, highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars ICW Chartbook, June 7, 2011
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I used the book on a recent series of trailer boating day cruises, out of Hilton Head SC area, Southport NC area, and Oriental NC area. I covered about 200 miles of the ICW using these charts.

It was a very good way to get an interconnected group of charts in an organized logical manner and at a good price. The only drawback for me was exploring the adjacent waterways off the ICW were generally not on the charts in the book, so I had to use separately purchased charts and my Garmin Nuvi with the G2Bluechart chip.

A second minor complaint is the orientation of the charts on each pages is inconsistent, as one will have North at 12:00, the next might have North at 4:00, whatever fits the most ICW on a page seems to be the orientation.

If you are planning an extended ICW trip it's a terrific and concise series of charts.

1.0 out of 5 stars Low budget effort, December 8, 2010
This flip chart book is little more than a compilation of NOAA charts edited down to show just the ICW. I just used it for a delivery from Newport RI to Florida and I think that for the money the author and publisher could provide some additional value added features such as making the charts readable upside-down ( southbound) and identifying points of interest. The bridge information is helpful, but with the continual construction of new bridges some of the info is already out of date. If you have space at the helm I would suggest full-sized chartbooks as they are in the same scale, but show more of the big picture such as proximity to ocean inlets and where the rivers go that the ICW is crossing.

If you're going up or down the ICW this is a really great way to assist your chartplotter. If you don't have a chartplotter you have to have it! The ease and quantity of information is so helpful and calming in unknown waters. If you don't have it or all the charts that cover the area plan on going aground or on a mud bank a few times. I do wish the bridge names were easier to figure out to call ahead, but I guess that is why I have glasses.
