I'm a PN student, and have just started my IV therapy class with this textbook. The lay out is clear, well thought through, and thorough. The nursing tips, diagrams and tables are helpful to learning the text. Also the review questions and key concepts at the end of the chapters are helpful for review before a test. Everything in the book is in the same range of cool colors which makes it easier to read because colored pictures, diagrams and different colored boxes are not distracting your eyes. My only complaint is that the text is a bit small so the pages look a little intimidating to get through, but it isn't bad.

Excellent book of must have knowledge for all Registered Nurses who are involved in infusion therapy or for those nurses who monitor IV's either in the hospital setting and or in the home care setting. Personally as an Intravenous RN specialist for 30 years, this book is a must have book for RN's who are the prime responsibility holders regarding infusion therapy. A must have read to understand the legal implications regarding infusion therapy if not following the standards of care for your specific state of RN practice.
For LVN's, and especially the 2 LVN's who wrote comments on Amazon about this book, I would direct you to please read your Nurse Practice Act for the state in which you work. Please refer to Intravenous Therapy in order to understand your role and liability related to IV therapy and or IV care. Read The Nurse Practice Act in order to know your responsibilites in your state of practice.

First of all, the book is in very bad shape. Secondly, I found my book from last semester so, I attempted to reach "The Book Czar", in an attempt to return book, but recieved no response from them.

We didn't use this book very often in IV therapy but it had good information in it.

Waste of money buying!!,
This review is from: Intravenous Infusion Therapy for Nurses (Paperback)
We only used about 2 chapters in this book while I was taking pharmacology. To me this book was a waste of money buying. It's O.K. but just describe IV infusion in too much detail. Too many steps (long steps) for doing IV. Don't break it down good at all!!!
