About the Author
It has been said... a second marriage is the triumph of hope over experience. Maurie and Nancy Nordstrom proved this true when they married on a hilltop overlooking the City of Boston in 2000. Five daughters, two sons, four spouses, three grandsons and two granddaughters make up their blended family. Along with family fun, they both love to garden, spending a lot of time wrestling with rocks and boulders on their property in Southern New Hampshire. Maurie and Nancy also love to travel and as confirmed Anglophiles, finally fulfilled a long-time desire to visit England, spending four weeks there in 2010.
Maurie is a long-time teddy bear collector, decorating their home in "Early Teddy Bear" to the delight of their grandchildren. He is an entertaining story teller, and some of the tales in this series have their roots in stories he told his children when they were young. Maurie is a voracious reader, especially interested in World War II history, and loves to putter, thinking up new ways to make things better.
Nancy is the author of "Learning Later, Living Greater: The Secret for Making the Most of Your After-50 Years," published by Sentient Publications in Boulder, CO. She also directs a national network of 400 lifelong learning programs for older adults. In her spare time Nancy keeps the home fires burning, loves cozy mystery stories, and crochets baby blankets for local shelters.
"Checky's Magical Adventures" are a direct result of Maurie and Nancy's day-to-day dealings with their mischievous bed-bear, Checky, and all his friends.
