Daby Balde,

First discovered this singer at WOMAD. He blew us all away and this album took me straight back there. It's fantastic. Mellow, melodic and full of soul. Love it.

I first heard Daby Balde on a Satellite TV music station--I was busy in the other room when he struck me with his sound--I stopped what I was doing and went quickly to the living room to listen to the television. I grabbed pencil and paper, wrote his name down and went to Amazon and ordered Introducing Daby Balde. I am smitten with his music. I FEEL it; the sadness, the joy, the hope. You do not need to understand the language to understand his songs. I have listened to this CD over and over and over, and still he hypnotizes me.
