Having somehow managed to avoid Kant and Hegel while studying philosophy, I searched for some introductory books at the library and, given the title, found this. It's quite short and provides some basic info--enough, let's say, not to get lost when a Professor alludes to the transcendental aesthetic. However, the book is conducted in the style of a TV interview and the auther can't restrain himself from having the interviewer frequently pause for 'station identification'. I found this more annoying than charming. No substitute for a 'real' book on German Idealists, but then it doesn't claim to be. If you have no clue about these guys and their theories, and have an hour to kill, it's probably worth skimming.
