this album consists of a lot of covers and a few original songs..it's unusual for an album to have a lot of covers but Harlemm pulls it off very well..the arrangements for the songs are very good..it really highlights Harlemm's unique voice..it accentuates his good vocal control and range..out of all the covers "Lean On Him" to me stood out because it had a gospel-like feel to it with the choir in the background..from the originals, i like "Let's Get Serious" because of the dance vibe to it..but the ballads showcase Harlemm's beautiful voice..i hope this cd will introduce Harlemm Lee to mainstream America and have him rediscovered by fans that love him way before Harlemm Lee..the only reason i didn't give it 5 stars because i would have loved more originals..but it's still a good cd to have..go get it!!!

I watched Harlemm Lee on Fame and from the first time he sang, I knew he would win. He is a fabulous talent and this CD, although mostly covers, shows how Harlemm can truly make a song his own. I only wish that this album was marketed the way it deserved. As an American Idol fan, I only wish that Harlemm could be pushed the same way as Clay Aiken. They are both amazing and extraordinary talents who should have the recognition that they deserve. It's refreshing to have artists who can sing a great love song and still leave something to the imagination. Buy this album and you won't be sorry!

Who is Harlemm's marketing team? Fire them. I just happen to see this cd in the store a few days ago, and had no idea that there was a CD even coming from HL. Well, it's good, as his performances when I've seen him live - so Wire Records - do your job and get this guy noticed - on MTV - DO SOMETHING!!

Being the reality show fan that I am, I watched FAME with interest to see who was going to win. I was not surprised that Harlemm and Shannon were the final two.

Anyway, I think this CD is pretty good. I like the unusual sound of Harlemms voice, which at times sounds a little bit throaty but at other times sounds like a young childs voice. I believe if Harlemm would have had the benefit of the media juggernaut that the American Idol contestants have received, I think this cd would be doing better in the market place.

The cd is primarily covers, but done respectably by Harlemm. The duet with Shannon Bex on the song "Destiny" is my favorite song on the album. Some of the songs have a gospel feel to them, while others have a bit of a dance/techno sound. The absolute best point of the album (in my opinion) is Harlemms version of the song "Get Here." I think Harlemms cover of the song is the best version that I have heard since Arleta Adams originally recorded the song in the 1990's.

So, I give this cd 4 stars. Overall it is pleasant to listen to and I am not ashamed to own it. I will let my family and friends hear the cd and maybe they will buy one for themselves. Hopefully if this cd holds its own in the market place, maybe Harlemm will grace us with another cd in the future.

Oh, and to Harlemm... you did a good job! Keep rockin' on.

I didn't know this was out either until I searched for Harlemm on a search engine. I voted for him last summer; he's a great talent. I just ordered the CD after listening to portions on this site.

Good luck Harlemm. No wonder the music business is so tough if you win Fame and then drop into oblivion because no-one chooses to push your career!

After falling in love with the incredible performer that is Harlemm Lee - on Fame, I was expecting much more promotion and fanfare when the album finally arrived. Harlemm's passionate and focused stage presence, his enormous vocals and dance technique, and his humble and genuine personality, all make him primed for superstardom. Even with a lackluster production and marketing team, this album is great. Harlemm never disappoints because he obviously sings with his heart and soul - and that quality makes him head and shoulders above most popular performers.

My favorite tracks are the ones that best show off Harlemm's talent and ecclectic personality. The songs are a mix of gospel, R&B, adult contemporary, even a broadway hit. I enjoyed listening and thinking back on his performances of the covers he did on the show. The arrangements here almost don't do him justice since you can't actually see him "take it to church".... "Get Here", "Careless Whisper", "Lean On Him", and "Tomorrow" seem his standout performances here. My absolute favorite on the album is "I Love You, Love Me". The production is much more pulled together and it could easily be played on the airwaves and be an instant classic.

Harlemm can do no wrong. He is blessed with enormous talent and I'm sure his next venture will be backed by a label that will give him the project he deserves. Let's keep an eye out for Harlemm.

First, this singer has a FANTASTIC VOICE and it is clear why Americans voted him NUMBER ONE on "Fame" this summer! My favorite selections on this cd are the standards as Harlemm makes each his own and doesn't just add them here as a vocal afterthought for the sake of filler. His version of "Tomorrow" should now be THE standard. I feel that, overall, he sounds better than the recent FOX talent winners (as I have their cds also) but, unfortunately, this "FAME" winner is not getting the press that the "American Idol" winners have received. This cd is a very good introduction to a great talent! Keep them coming, Harlemm!!

I've been a fan of Harlemm since he first stepped on the stage on Fame. He's definitely got the whole package: charisma, creativity, individuality, good voice, dancer. His singing was head and shoulders above the other contestants on the show and this CD shows it wasn't a fluke. Most songs on the CD are either familiar past hits or pop fluff, but it works to Harlemm's advantage. You can appreciate how Harlemm infuses his own personality into every song and doesn't try to imitate someone who has already made their mark on the music world. I look forward to watching this talent develop over time. Especially with more original songs. I expect at least one of his tunes to become an instant classic, it's just a matter of time.

Harlemm, please get to a company that will handle your career the way it deserves to be handled. You are SOOOO talented. I couldn't get enough of you on Fame. The only way your CD could be any better is if it were a DVD so we could *see* you perform while you're singing. You are the best performer I have EVER seen. PLEEEEEEEASE get with people that care about your career!

Harlemm has such an amazing voice. It's a shame that this talent is not promoted more. It's as if the companies obligated to Fame made no effort in futhering his career. Had he been on American Idol most of america would know of him by now. However his talent has transcended that and his cd is great.
