This book has turned out to be a very useful purchase. There is very few markings found in the book.

If you are looking for a book which will show you a "picture" of where Christ lived and the land he traveled. If you want to understand more about the "why's" and "what's" of the Bible, where the books came from and what they mean, this is the perfect place to start.

I like this text book. It went right along with the lectures. Granted my professors wrote the book. XD It works for them, it would depend on how your professor teaches.

This text book is clear and concise and well written. It is the perfect book for anyone who is new to Bible study. I recommend it for anyone who is teaching beginners.

I registered for this Intro to the Bible course only about a week before it started and when I looked for the book online I chose one in "very good" condition from belltowerbooks. I received the book the day before the class started and I was very disappointed in the condition it was in - a few pages were ripped and one was sticking out of the book and the book's binding was broken - not what I would call even "fair" condition. I will not purchase from belltowerbooks again. The book itself is interesting and an easy read.

I'm a single parent starting school again, I needed this book for an extra class I'm taking. I've never ordered a book from amazon books but I just got the book in the mail five minutes ago and I'm very happy, the shipping was great and it came within enough time for me to get my homework done and be ready for my new class.THANK YOU again, I will recommend this seller to everyone in my class.

After attempting find a use for this book in my studies, I came to the conclusion that I could not. It does not have very much useful information, the authors' position is silly and naive. Reading this book without substantial study elsewhere will not help you understand the origins of the Bible or its purpose. It maks assumptions which can only be labelled as religiously biased. For instance, it offers no substantial evidence for its claim of the oral roots of the biblical text. It assumes that the Bible has a view that is similar to that of today's readers. The authors do not understand the huge differences or the similarities between modern peoples and the ancients. If some offers this book to you, say thanks but no thanks, there are much better ones out there.
