The Only TRUE source of Kabbalah,
By
This review is from: Introduction to the Book of Zohar: The Spiritual Secret of Kabbalah; vol. 1: The Science of Kabbalah (Pticha) (English and Hebrew Edition) (Paperback)
This second in the series of books on Kabbalah brings the Zohar to an understanding for all. The original "Zohar" is actually a series of ancient texts which complile into a 23 volume encyclopedia set.
This new book by Kabbalist RAV Michael Laitman, a personal student of the great Kabbalist Rabbi Baruch Ashlag, is presented in an easy, excellent simplified form. He teaches the new student not only how to understand the Zohar, but how to interpret it. Since the ancient secrets of Kabbalah has come about, you'll find many books stating they can explain it all in their book alone, as well as claiming to have the upmost knowledge, when in actuality, this is impossible. The Zohar and other books of Kabbalah cannot fit into one text, or even two alone. For those seeking the only true source of the knowledge of Kabbalah, I highly encourage you to pick this, and read the first in this series by RAV Laitman entitled "The Science Of Kabbalah". You will quickly discover your new path to true spirituality. These two are the actual course books to the live free online classes taught by RAV Laitman himself, and the students of "Bnei Baruch", in Israel. At [...] For those who have difficulty understanding these books, it is most encouraged that you visit the website, and watch the classes. We guarantee you will never turn back.

Probably not for the beginner, but a great and much-encompassing book.,

This review is from: Introduction to the Book of Zohar: The Spiritual Secret of Kabbalah; vol. 1: The Science of Kabbalah (Pticha) (English and Hebrew Edition) (Paperback)
This book is kinda heavy on terminology and is not an easy read by far. However, it is a great tool for the serious student. Spiritual phenomena are described in a very scientific and practical manner, rather than merely allotting them very abstract and blurry (or even worse: false or misleading) explanations as do some other books on Kabbalah today. It's a great introduction to the Holiest of books. Besides, Kabbalah is not attained through knowledge but rather through desire, so understanding everything is not key.

This review is from: Introduction to the Book of Zohar: The Spiritual Secret of Kabbalah; vol. 1: The Science of Kabbalah (Pticha) (English and Hebrew Edition) (Paperback)
This book maps out reality beyond the 5 senses. those who truly read it with the intention of uncovering its wisdom will sense what really kabbalah is all about. not for those who seek kabbalah for a better job, or happiness, or a better corporeality but for those seeking reality and connectivity to one's maker. This book helps understand how to study the zohar and ancient texts with the help of the language described as well as gematria and so on...

Amazingly Scientificly Presented,
This review is from: Introduction to the Book of Zohar: The Spiritual Secret of Kabbalah; vol. 1: The Science of Kabbalah (Pticha) (English and Hebrew Edition) (Paperback)
This is an amazing book that scientifically reveals what has been hidden for thousands of years. The information in this book was presented by Kabbalist Michael Laitman who through years of a teaching lineage learned from Rabash, son of Baal HaSulam, the Ari and the list goes on. Complete with graphs, charts, and a unique narrative by Dr. Laitman, this book goes in to intricate detail of what Kabbalah is all about and most importantly, how to begin and stay on a path towards spiritual fulfillment. You only need to have asked yourself, one question: "What is the meaning of my life?" All you need is the desire and the book will help kick start you on a true Kabalistic path.

This review is from: Introduction to the Book of Zohar: The Spiritual Secret of Kabbalah; vol. 1: The Science of Kabbalah (Pticha) (English and Hebrew Edition) (Paperback)
Although I understand the title of this book is: 'The Science of Kabbalah', this book lost me, and I have studied Kabbalah for several years. I have read other books by Rabbi Laitman, and I want to reiterate that he knows his Kabbalah, but unless you are at a 'PhD' level of Kabbalah, this book will lose you, too.
I could not get through this book, it spends far too much time with Hebrew terminologies and words, and less on techniques to enhance one's spirituality. I believe it's important to understand and comprehend the belief system that one subscribes to, but this book breaks it down to the ridiculous. It is an exhaustive and overwhelming book that seems to get nowhere. Most of the book concentrates on Hebrew terms that one cannot possibly memorize (or even want to), and repeats the theory of 'receiving for the self alone' or 'receiving for the sake of the Creator'. I felt as though I were stuck in the mud spinning my proverbial tires throughout the first half of this book. I am not one that believes that spirituality should be studied this closely...I believe that going out in the world and practicing the precepts of Kabbalah is what is most helpful. This book will be total confusion for anyone who is just starting out in Kabbalah. **I have enjoyed Rabbi Laitman's other books, specifically, 'Attaining the World's Beyond', which does give a much more practical and user friendly version of Kabbalah. But again, unless you are writing your thesis on science and Kabbalah, this book, 'The Science of Kabbalah', will only frustrate and alienate you. |
