Interesting Information, Concepts and Cocnerns about Ethics,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: An Introduction to Business Ethics (Paperback)
Desjardins talks about previous related ethical issues that have occurred for huge corporations to help individuals understand the importance of moral actions in their everyday lives. The author challenges us to question how well we know our own faith and values in life. This book is very insightful and interesting to read. I recommend this to anyone that wants clarity or maybe even to have a reference guide on ethics in the work place, this is the book to purchase.

This was an "ok" ethics book, but the author is very wordy with making a point. It takes him a page to make a small point. There does not appear to be any uniformity between chapter lengths. Sometimes they are really really long, then sometimes they are normal. It does have some good material in it and the case studies are interesting. Overall it is a good book, but not perfect.

This book is very useful and cheap. Although it is a used book, it still can be treated as new one.

I never left any reviews for books i have purchased. I had to buy this book for my business ethics class. This textbook is one of the most BORING text book ever and like the other person said in the review, the writer takes up many pages to make a small points that can be explained very easily and clearly. He makes it sound more complicated. If you like wordy books then go for it. But if you are more like a person "let's get to the point ", then do not buy it.

I'm getting to the end of my semester with DesJardins book on Business Ethics. This is a lot more manageable than a hulking textbook with all the extras that I don't use (Ex: Practices Quizzes and Pictures). If you're going to be picking this up for a class, may I recommend sitting down and reading it front to back. The author does tend to relate back to previous chapters, and this can pose a problem when you aren't getting to the final chapters till the end of your semester and the author is telling you to refer back to chapters one and two.
Overall, it is short, it reads like a novel and you could probably chew through it in one weekend and then digest it throughout the semester when your professor helps you develop the ideas from the book more thoroughly. This is a great guide to ethics for any business student who finds social responsibility an important factor in the modern world.

Boring,

This book is boring and horribly written. It does not read like a small text book but as a compilation of hundreds of little newspaper articles. This makes it really hard read. It does not use headers to help guide you through the material. I hope my school switches so other students don't have to go through the torture of reading this.

This review is from: An Introduction to Business Ethics with Free Business Ethics PowerWeb (Paperback)
This book is a huge bore. Interesting topic but it's been pummelled to death by the author who some accuse of having been paid by the word - yes it's just that wordy! Too bad it's a required text in school. It would be great is somone else would write a more readable book on business ethics.

This review is from: An Introduction to Business Ethics (Paperback)
I purchased this book and paid for it but never received it. I sent a message to the seller and never received a reply. I sent a message to Amazon and received nothing from them either. So if the book is anything like the service it probably isn't to good.
I do need the book soon because classes start next week. If you know anyone who could help me out I would appreciate it. Thank you. Perry J. Brown |
