Boris Ustaev, one of the top animators with 3D Studio MAX's Character Studio, will guide you through the interface, covering the three main areas of Character Studio's Biped. He begins by explaining Figure Mode, Footstep Mode & Motion Flow Mode. Boris shows the manual setup of footsteps as well as importing a motion capture file and combining two different files to achieve amazing results with little effort. He then links a Biped character to a pre-modeled figure, and adds a motion capture file to the figure. He also uses the scripter to merge two motion capture files and blends them to achieve an animation that would be nearly impossible to animate by hand. He finishes the character with Physique, by assigning muscle bulges and edits those points to refine their shape. Boris is a master at explaining the features, and makes the complex seem simple and fun.
