About the Author
Sam Hider spoke Cherokee before having to learn English in Indian schools. A Baptist preacher, his voice is soft and clear making the language easy to learn. Gregg Howard, a student of Sam, promised to continue teaching and preserving the language. Since 1992, he has taught at various colleges and universities in the Dallas, TX area.

This book, used with the supplied CD, is the best possible way to learn the Cherokee Language I know of, besides being personally tutored by a Cherokee speaking person.
The author has excellent pronunciation, and the new booklet supplied goes into much deeper detail than the older publication. I highly recommend this system to learn the basic Cherokee language and syllabary. It was recommended to me by a native Cherokee speaker, and she was absolutely right on.

This is a wonderful book and cd set. It starts off with the syllabry and then goes into more detailed information (numbers, months, ect.) Wonderful set for learning Cherokee!
