This is a clear and concise reference grammar, best used by linguists (or linguists at heart) who wish to access the phonetics, morphology, and syntax of Hawaiian at a glance. It is NOT a teach-yourself guide to Hawaiian. In fact, most of the example words used throughout the grammar are left untranslated.Again, a good overview of the Hawaiian language but not a good intro for people whose goal is to actually speak and read Hawaiian. |
