Highly informative
This is a very good book written in easy-to-understand language. I usually do not like to read text books, but this book keeps one's attention and makes the information interesting.

Although this book provided an excellent overview of the human service industry, it was extremely biased. I was surprised at the number of direct jabs she had for the Bush/Cheney administration and Republicans in general, that were often times irrelevant and unfounded. Informative, but Biased,
This review is from: Introduction to Human Services (Paperback)
Although this book provided an excellent overview of the human service industry, it was extremely biased. I was surprised at the number of direct jabs she had for the Bush/Cheney administration and Republicans in general, that were often times irrelevant and unfounded. This undertone clouded the general purpose of this book for me, and as a result, I began to develop a negative perception of human services throughout the semester. Michelle E. Martin may want to reconsider this liberal bias when publishing her next textbook.
