About the Author

Cynthia L. Shamel, entrepreneur and small business owner, founded Shamel Information Services in 1998, offering competitive intelligence and business research to clients ranging from sole proprietors to multinational corporations. She served as a college reference librarian and taught in a library technology program before launching her research business. Ms. Shamel obtained her Master of Library Science degree from Indiana University in 1990, and also holds a B.A. in geography. Ms. Shamel has spoken at industry and information professional conferences on marketing and competitive intelligence and has been published in Searcher Magazine, FreePint, Connections, and Community & Junior College Libraries. She is a member of the Special Libraries Association and 2003-2004 President of the Association of Independent Information Professionals.

Good research book or text for a course of the same subject matter. I learned a few tricks of the trade, and have made use of the material in the book.

Glad I read it. Its a welcome addition to my reference shelf.

The down side is that this material will be dated, as it relates to online resources. Time marches on, and technology will eventually make this book obsolete
