one of my favourites, December 29, 2008
This review is from: An Introduction to Kundalini Yoga & Chanting, Vol. 1 (DVD)
I love this DVD. It was one of the first yoga DVDs I ever tried, and is very do-able for people "of size" as there are modified moves and options for just about everything that could be difficult or discouraging. It takes hardly any time to go right to the regular unmodified moves, too.
The music on this DVD is what pushed it to 5 stars vs 3-4 stars for me. It's awesome and helps keep you focused when otherwise you might get tired and want to stop or rest or quit. The CD is great when you just want to meditate or just sit and chill and focus your mind on something other than stressful junk.

Namaste Yogis and Yoginis, November 23, 2008
This review is from: An Introduction to Kundalini Yoga & Chanting, Vol. 1 (DVD)
Truly uplifting and inspiring. The DVD is surpassed only by the music and chants, which will continue to work "in you" and "through you" during your everyday stress and journey in life. Highly recommended for the spiritual and active practice of yoga, meditation and a heightened inner reflection. Well done.

Mantra Girl....Kundalini Yoga Class, April 29, 2010
This review is from: An Introduction to Kundalini Yoga & Chanting, Vol. 1 (DVD)
Mantra Girl Kundalini Yoga
I have been practicing Kundalini Yoga now for over a year and have an established morning practice, prior to discovering Kundalini Yoga I had practiced Hatha Yoga for over a year. I now have a great library of DVD classes that I rotate which include Maya Fiennes, Ana and Ravi, Gurumkh, Gurutej and Carolyn Cowan...all lovely to work with.
The Detox and Destress Class by Maya Fiennes was my first DVD and initially I found it challenging and in comparisson I found Mantra Girls DVD Class much more of a challenge...especially the arm movements. Now that I have become more experienced with regular practice the Class is much more achieveable though I work within my limitations on any given day.
The class is set in stunning scenery with the sea in the background. There are some female students who work alongside Erin (Mantra Girl) and two do modifications of the postures which I benefit from. The accompanying music/mantra's are divine and are so inspirational in keeping you going as is Erin who encourages throughout.
The class begins with the Tune in via mantra and then there is a good warm up section which includes Sufi Grind, Spinal flexes, Stretch pose, Camel Pose with modification, Leg stretches to lengthen the sciatic nerve and some modified push up's. I particularly enjoy the warm up section, the postures are done for a good amound of time to enable you to really loosen up and go deeper into stretches. I feel prepared in body and mind for the next section. The next section of the class works on the 8th Chakra, the Aura to develop radience and project and protect. I find it a challenge but it is very enjoyable and if I need to rest and start again that is what I do and it is fine. I am finding that I can do more and more for longer and longer now. The next part of the class is Deep Relaxation lying on your back in Savasana and that is followed by two lovely meditations...really beautiful. Class ends with Tune out via mantra.
This is a favourite for sure, I feel that I go deep into the practice with Erin, she teaches in a gentle way and I am comfortable with the structure of the class. I feel so blissful and relaxed though at the same time wonderfully energised...a lovely experience....thanks Erin, Sat Nam x
