4.0 out of 5 stars A new African national literature in Spanish, April 2, 2009
By
This review is from: An Introduction to the Literature of Equatorial Guinea: Between Colonialism and Dictatorship (Afro-Romance Writers Series) (Paperback)

This pioneer study on the literature of Equatorial Guinea, an African small country which became independent from Spain in 1968, and is the only sub-Saharan African nation having Spanish as official language and language of culture, open the way to those who may be interesting in discoving and enlarging their knowledge about a most peculiar literary reality. In other words, the only one that makes it possible for the Spanish language to express, share, and hybridize itself with the cultural framework of Black Africa. It is also very well-written, original and informative.
