The most user-friendly book for Propositional Logic,
By
This review is from: Introduction to Logic: Propositional Logic (Paperback)
This is a easy to use text for learning the basics of Propositional Logic. The rule set is simple and symmetrical, easy to use. The CD gives important feedback to the student and contains the answers to almost every exercise in the book plus additional practice exercises. I would recommend this textbook to any professor wishing to teach Propositional Logic.

Up until maybe Chapter 4 or 5 everything's fairly well-explained, but after that, when you get into the longer proofs, it gets a bit muddied and our Prof had to side-step from the book a bit to keep everyone on-track. It has comic cells that help to illustrate the ideas, which was nice.

Logic is a critical tool for critical thinking,

Every voter should take a course in logic. Every student should learn the elements of critical thinking. I took an Intro to Philosophy class years ago and the instructor used this book. She supplemented with letters to the editor and candidates for public office position statements. It was very enlightening and changed the way I listen to and process information. This is the best book I have used on the subject. I always use a little bit of the simpler techniques when I teach math classes. I also use it when I teach students how to search the Internet effectively.

English majors beware!,

This review is from: Introduction to Logic: Propositional Logic, Revised Edition (3rd Edition) (Paperback)
Pospesel likes to mess with your head. He uses horrible, gramatically disastorous sentences that he wants the reader to distill into logic proofs. If you find this sort of thing fun, well, have at it! But I'm an English major and I want to get out a red pen and start correcting the run-ons, redundancies, and obfuscations. This book is the reason I withdrew from the class!
