A bit outdated (in some way) but still one of the best,

This review is from: Introduction to Mathematical Biology (Dover Books on Biology) (Paperback)
This book was written in the 1970s. Applications of mathematics in biology are wider now. So it is not surprising that this book is in some way a bit outdated. There are other mathematical biology books that cover more contemporary topics. However, as far as fundamentals of mathematical biology in areas such as diffusion processes and fluid flows are concerned, I still regard this book as one of the best in the field. In my opinion, it is definitely better than some of the more recently written texts (e.g. "An Introduction to Mathematical Physiology and Biology" by J Mazumdar).
