Fairly objective overview of the subject...,
This review is from: An Introduction to Parapsychology, Fourth Edition (Paperback)
This book is written with an academic, professional and reasonably impartial tone. The book doesn't try to convince you that psychic phenomenon are genuine. If there is an underlying message from the author of this book, it is that many parapsychologists are HONEST scientists, they take their work very seriously, and that parapsychology is not always synonymous with pseudoscience.

The author is totally unbiased.
He explains the parapsychology cosmos from various angles including science, religion, quantum physics and the occult. I found this book to be INDISPENSABLE. All those who are interested in parapsychology SHOULD buy this book. It is almost perfect. One of the very best books published in the last ten years.

This book was pretty middle of the road. It gave a lot of old history about what some unknown scientists did to test theories in the 70s-80s that was pretty boring and dry. It had some good information in it also, but for the most part I could only give it a FAIR score of 3 stars. N. Passage

A clearing in the forest,
This review is from: An Introduction to Parapsychology (Paperback)
This is the most thorough and definitive Inroduction to Parapsychology I have seen. It is also the most objective work of its type which I have read besides Varieties of Anomalous Experience: Examining the Scientific Evidence.
I recommend it highly and suspect that the true and observant Skeptic would as well. Yet the crafty and perjurious few that dwell amoungst the dens of "Skeptics" and "Conjurers" alike would not. Very fulfilling read!

Being a text book, and a wonderful one at that, this book for me, proved to be a challenge. A positive challenge though. While quite a bit of it was "over my head" that certainly did not detur me from continuing this book. This book is a great refernce material, and I look forward to going back and reviewing the areas that I highlighted, that were of specific interest to me.
I gave this book five stars and, as previously mentioned, while it was a bit challenging, it is a worthwhile read, indeed! :-)

The book arrived on time and was in excellent quality. The price was also one of the more reasonable ones I could find, as well.
