Not a masterpiece
Also this book is a classic in hearing research it is not a very understandable one. The author deals much to far with basic hearing things and cochlear processing, extends content to the maximum, that's not what I expected and to make the picture perfect the language is more difficult then easy. I don't like it, maybe your money is better invested in the Introduction to...

My favorite book about the auditory system,
This review is from: An Introduction to the Physiology of Hearing, Second Edition (Paperback)
This was one of the books required for my Doctor of Audiology coursework and it quickly became my favorite source for the anatomy and physiology of the auditory system. Initially, it was difficult to read. However, after reading the book for a short time and becoming more comfortable with the author's style of writing, it became much easier to process.
While not directly clinically useful, I believe it is a must read for all Audiologists as it provides an extensive look into the auditory system and why we do what we do in the clinic.
