5.0 out of 5 stars Exceptional. Informative, interesting and very practical.
This book is essential reading for any person entering the Investigations field. The information provided is realistic, down to earth and absolutely tried and proven.

Many current Investigators would be well served by reading this book.

I teach Investigators in Brisbane, Australia and will advise my students to purchase and read this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Review by ex Australian Police Officer
I am an experienced police investigator having worked for over 20 years in the field of surveillance and undercover tactics. The book covers basic principles in respect to these tactics but uses old methodology. The book covers basic principles in respect to these tactics but uses old methodology. The book makes reference to American legislation and therefore a lot of the book is irrelevant to Australian enforcement procedures. If you are just getting started in the industry the book would be helpful but I would look for an Australian alternative first.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lousy Homework on the Occult part, December 26, 2008

This book may have legitimate information on many aspects of Private Investigations, but the part about the Occult left a sour taste in my mouth, enough for me to throw the book away. I'm a Wiccan. I cannot abide biased opinions about witchcraft and the occult by people who refuse to study what they call 'evil'. This man is obviously not informed in this area and what he proposes in that chapter is of a dangerous mentality. For someone who preaches investigative procedures, he fell wayyy short in this area. My advice? Skip this part of the book, ignore it. I was once a Christian...I did my homework. I'm sorry to say that this guy did not. From the way he wrote this part, it's very evident he's of a mindset that refuses to acknowledge anything but stereotypical thinking along these lines. If he wants accurate information on this subject, he needs to talk to those who are actually involved in the Craft, not regurgitate what he hears from the pulpit. A good source of information for him to read would be the 'Temple of Witchcraft' books by Christopher Penczak. Those works teach of Magick and the Craft from a scientific angle as well as historical research utilized to present many forms of cultural beliefs. Get the other side of the story here. Don't settle for 'traditional' thinking.
