This review is from: Introduction to Private Land Mobile Radio (LMR): Dispatch, LTR, APCO, MPT1327, iDEN, and TETRA (Paperback)
All you get are 30-odd pages of acronyms and their definitions - nothing useful it the way of details concerning the initiation of calls or theory on trunked radios. It just says they "do this" or "do that". I wanted to know the logic that covers channel allocation and what goes on on the control channel.

1.0 out of 5 stars Overly simplified and quite misleading on many aspects, July 13, 2009
This review is from: Introduction to Private Land Mobile Radio (LMR): Dispatch, LTR, APCO, MPT1327, iDEN, and TETRA (Paperback)
This was a promising book however I found it to be overly simplified on its descriptions and quite misleading on not only the types of radio systems but also their manufacturer's and development history and applications. I grade this book an F for failure on a scholastic scale and on a proper guidance and basics building.
