4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for semiconductor physics, April 16, 2008
This review is from: Introduction to Semiconductor Materials and Devices (Paperback)
I have been doing research for several years on advanced semiconductor devices and still find this book very useful. The author has deep insight into semiconductor device physics and is able to explain many subtle and often confusing ideas with clarity. I highly recommend this book if you want to do more than skim the surface of this fascinating subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars A comprhensive textbook, April 24, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Introduction to Semiconductor Materials and Devices (Paperback)
I studied from that book in 1992 and even though I became a circuit designer, I still find it a very valuable reference when I really want to refer to the basic theory. It is quite comprehensive and rigorous....

1.0 out of 5 stars A poor textbook, November 28, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Introduction to Semiconductor Materials and Devices (Paperback)
I studied from this book for an undergraduate semiconductor physics and devices course. The book contains information on many different topics. However, each topic's information is insufficient and poorly presented. As a student, many of the problems at the end of each chapter have almost nothing to do with the material presented in the chapter. Many of these problem's solutions required methods/equations that were not presented in the book. These reasons were probably part of the reason the professor only used this book one semester before switching to a different text.
