I'm a fairly new STATA user and have struggled with the "statistics with STATA" books. This one I find much easier to use. So far, I have been able to find pretty straightforward answers every time I have looked for something, although more advances issues may be beyond this book. I purchased based on good reviews from a stats web site. So far it's really helped me figure out basic things about setting up files, merging, labeling data, etc. which I hadn't quite understood before. I am too new to STATA to be able to say this is the "best" of the STATA how-to, but it is certainly better than the other STATA texts for an early user like me.
