This introductory method for B-flat trumpet is separated into weekly sections. The exercises are first to be performed only on the mouthpiece and then on the trumpet immediately thereafter. Also included are the preparatory sections on breathing, the lips, your first notes, etc; these should be read before moving on to the exercises. Seventy-three exercises included on the companion CD; in German and English. Using this method book, anyone can start to learn the trumpet with the beginning lessons provided here.

About the Author
Born in Zwickau, (former East) Germany. First trumpet lessons in 1968 with G. Haubold. Studied at the Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy College of Music in Leipzig with Professor Kurt Ramm. First solo trumpet with the Chemnitz First City Orchestra (later the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra) from 1977-1979, solo trumpet at the Berlin State Opera since 1979. Since then he has been very active as a teacher and lecturer for example at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. Master classes in Stockholm, Ohio, Leipzig and Tokyo. Courses and seminars in Rotterdam and Japan. Since 1996 he has been active as a mentor at the Barenboim Academy at the Statskapelle Berlin.
