A Great Introduction to the Ethics of the Ancient Greeks,
By Jeffrey M. Turbitt (Boston, Massachusetts) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Introduction to Virtue Ethics: Insights of the Ancient Greeks (Paperback)
Devettere does a great job in accurately describing some of the recurrent notions of the ancient Greek Philosophers, including happiness, virtue, and prudence. Each topic is carefully and clearly explained, making some of the more esoteric ethical thoughts simple to understand. This work is great for applying virtue ethics to everything from health care to business.

Having read dozens of books on philosophy, and ethics in particular, this is without a doubt the most useful book in print, by far. The author writes lucidly and persuasively, a pleasure to read.
