4.0 out of 5 stars useful as a referance, May 23, 2006
This review is from: Introductory Raman Spectroscopy (Hardcover)
i work in a laboratory where we use raman laser spectroscopy extensively. unfortunately, most degree curriculums can only include a few lessons on IR and NMR spectra and do not cover raman principles (for the sake of time i guess). because of this i only possessed a general idea of what raman spectroscopy is, and that only because i was able to piece some ideas together using what i learned about IR in school. this book helped me to understand much better the differences between raman and other forms of spectroscopy, and offered some practical tips for its use. my only complaint would be its a little dry (it would probably make a good sleep-aid, as i found myself yawning alot while reading it), but then its a book about spectroscopy, so what should one expect?
