I have been using this book in my statistics classes since 1990. It is so easy to understand for undergraduate students. Authors give really good examples to explain some complex subjects of statistics. These examples make the book more readable..

Book arrived on time but the only problem was that the book looked to have cover damage from shipping. I could not return because i needed the book right away. But other than that good service.

Great price and timely delivery. Couldn't ask for more. Will order from this seller again, given a chance.

I think this is the best book for an introduction to Statistics. It explained concepts behind each test and the reasons to choose one test over another, in ways that were easy to understand. I like knowing the proofs or calculating by hand. Perhaps because that's the way I was educated. I also have "Statistics for people who hate Statistics" and I think it is absolute rubbish but it may be helpful for others. As a grad student however, this book has been very helpful to me

i love the way stats is explained in this book. it really makes life easier for me and helps me to grasp the theory and concepts behind ANOVA's , t-tests, etc....

i find myself constantly going back to this book for reference when my grad stats books were confusing...

really wish grad level books were this good...

Book came exactly as described. Very happy with purchase. 6th edition includes workbook problems that were separate in the 5th edition.

I was charged for the item and never received it. Canceled order but not reimbursed. As far as I am concerned, I will NEVER buy from Amazon again!

This book is not for the beginner. The book came at a measured pace to my house...a little bit later than I would of liked, but probably because it was weighed down with so much thick text. The book includes all of the needed equations and explanations and is very thorough, but, unfortunately, not a statistics book for dummies (which is what I feel like after trying to use this for my class). Get this with another, less complicated explanation of statistics.

The contents of this book are good, depending on how well you can grasp the material in the book. However, it's better to get this book from another seller or directly from Amazon. I purchased the book a month before the semester started, and I never received it from chnewland or received a reply e-mail in regards to my purchase. Luckily, Amazon returned the funds to my account.

Now that we have heard from the instructors, let's hear from the students. This book it utter drivel. (If I thought I could get away with a couple other choice words, I'd use them!)

This book is being used in a doctoral level course. It is overly complicated, unrelenting in its overblown examples and does NOT explain statistics the way anyone needs to use them!

Additionally, this book could use a tutorial on SPSS. NO ONE calculates by hand anymore. (Or if they do, they are nuts and wasting good grant money!) The study guide that was put out with this book is complicated in the extreme, abysmal, explains nothing and assumes much.

Many other books do a better job at explaining Statistics for students who are paralyzed by the mere mention of the word. Instructors who use this book are doing their students a disservice. I would NEVER burden my students (yes, I teach undergrad and graduate level courses!) with any book so deadly. It's only too bad we can't sue the writers of these books and get our money back from them!

(FYI for all who are wondering: I figure I will finish the class with a B and take it gratefully after enlisting the help of a statistician, my husband and several other better reference books.)
