5.0 out of 5 stars It's already helping my marriage immensely!! :)
I am only about 100 pages in with this book, and it has already changed the way I think about myself (100% Outie), AND about my husband (about an 85% Innie). I was starting to go down that dangerous path of 'Why can't he be a bit more like me at times?', and was not appreciating him for the differences that make "US" work. I now see that it's the way we think about our...

Perhaps if this is the first book you've read about introversion vs. extroversion it could be helpful. I've done a little research and found this book to be a letdown - no new information here. I ended up skimming the chapters and sending it on to the thrift store.

I now see that it's the way we think about our differences that counts.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is at that 'hmmmmmm....' stage in their introvert/extrovert relationship.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent followup to the first book, The Introvert Advantage., March 3, 2008

This book is a great complement to the first book as it goes into the different types of relationships between introverts and extroverts. It includes the information that was in the first book but has the added dimension of exploring relationships.

I found it very insightful and helpful! Introverts and extroverts can have a good relationship if they understand the dynamics as explained in this book. Instead of resenting or feeling uncomfortable with a partner that is of the opposite type, understanding and appreciating differences can work in a great way!

There is so little information out there on Introverts. This book sheds light on the love relationship between introverts and extroverts. I am an introvert and have felt misunderstood all 52 years of my life. Not only should introverts read this but extroverts should too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good advice for those in need, July 29, 2008
This review is from: The Introvert and Extrovert in Love: Making It Work When Opposites Attract (Paperback)
This book helped me understand the differences between introverted people and extroverted people. It is useful not just for couples, but also for understanding interactions in any relationship (friends, family, coworkers, etc.). Some of the suggestions seem like common sense to me, but it was all good advice anyhow. I found the book to be a very quick read.

I'm not a big reader, so I really enjoyed that this book was a quick and easy read. My husband is an outie and I am an innie; together for 17 years and still found ourselves 'sticking' with our personalities, social lives, communication and parenting techniques. This book helped me understand to appreciate and embrace the differences in all people, how to balance those differences and that its GOOD to not be surrounded by like-minded people all the time. Having those differences is what brought us together, kept us together and gives our children a nice balance in their lives. My husband is reading it now and I have a line of friends waiting for it after hearing my raves. I'm now moving on to Laney's "The Introvert Advantage" - can't wait!

My fiance is the introvert, I am the extrovert. I bought this book because we are struggling with our differences. There are so many places throughout the book that I can relate to. If you are in this type of a relationship...I totally recommend this book! A very interesting read.

1.0 out of 5 stars you're better off not reading this book, May 5, 2009
This review is from: The Introvert and Extrovert in Love: Making It Work When Opposites Attract (Paperback)
I attempted to read this book several times, and found the author's attempts at pseudoscience were either misquoted or perhaps misunderstood by the author, they came across as nothing short of self aggrandizement. The author has an air of superiority that is enough to drive a saint round the bend. How her husband, whom she quotes on a regular basis has had the patience to stay with her after the writing of this book and the public revelation of his many failings is beyond me. I began to resent introverts by the time I got to page 30 and the whole idea was to learn to understand them, considering my partner and daughter are both very wonderful, but at times confusing introverts. :-)

3.0 out of 5 stars This book means well..., May 4, 2009
This review is from: The Introvert and Extrovert in Love: Making It Work When Opposites Attract (Paperback)
There are some good things to walk away with out of this book- if you can stay awake long enough to get through it. The one that sticks out is to lower your voice when speaking to the introvert as to not "jolt" them-- as if we are screaming at them on a daily basis... IT was just boring and pretty bland throughout.
