5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, Diverse, and Refreshing, December 18, 2009
This review is from: Intuit (Audio CD)
First of all, there is NOTHING like this band around today.

Secondly, they seamlessly mesh acoustic, folk, rock, hip hop, electronic, and then add their own VERY distinct twist on it.

No two songs sound remotely similar - each one is its own piece of art. Each tune has so many different layers and pieces throughout...The diversity of this album is incredible.

Their single, "I Say Fever," is one of the best songs I have heard in a LONG time.

I would give it 6 stars if I could...

FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT, GENIUS

4.0 out of 5 stars Yeah, I dig it., March 9, 2010

I will admit it, this album took several repeat listens for me to actually "get" it. It was like someone dumped a box of puzzle pieces on a table, all over the place, then asked me to tell them what I saw. That's just me saying, upon 1st listen, Intuit is pretty much all over the place. So, after just a couple of spins...I thought this album was over my head (nice code words for bad). Suddenly, I started putting the puzzle pieces together somehow. Now, once together, I realize Intuit's brilliance. In fact, to me, there are a couple of standout tunes on this album. Maybe this is why Ramona Falls hasn't gotten it's buzzy due.

Album of the year. It's too bad nobody else really knows about it. With songs like Russia, I now see that music is truly the most beautiful of art forms. More please.

I'm very surprised that this album isn't getting more attention, considering the popularity of Menomena. I find it to be genius from beginning to end. Not a bad song on it. If you like Brent's Menomena songs (Wet and Rusting, Evil Bee, etc.), then you'll like this. Highly recommended.

excellent solo outing from 1/3 of the band Menomena. there are a lot of stand out tracks. hard to believe that he kept this project so low budget. the production is great! highly recommended for all but a must for Menomena fans.

I saw the first video of "I Say Fever" and I immediately got the cd. This music is absolutely amazing; I put it along the same lines with Fever Ray and others. As for having to be a Menomena fan, I had never heard of them until after I got this album, so you don't HAVE to be a Menomena fan (and I much prefer his solo venture).

This is one of the most beautiful, cohesive albums that I've had the pleasure of hearing. It's fantastical, emotion- and thought-provoking, and the variances of each song are just enough to disjoint each from the others, giving each its own interest. Do I even have to mention the heart-wrenching "I Say Fever" with its scratchy guitar work and powerful, melodic vocals? Buy this, please!

Free range excellence, if you ask me. This set holds track after track of bounding musical ventures, with lyrics and chords hitting you headlong, sideways, every-which-a-ways and other even other ways you only begin to realize after a second or third run-through. The energy of discovery is high on this one and I'd recommend you take part in the voyage, if only to see how it plays out in the midst of entrenched ideas about where music can go.

I agree with Richard Michael Borean's review... This is a six-star disk. It mesmerized me almost instantly and I'm still under its spell a hundred plays later.

Found this band on YouTube and they have a great sound. They remind me of a mix of Primus, Pink Floid and BT. I would recommend picking up a copy of their CD. Be sure to watch their music video for "I Say Fever".
