4.0 out of 5 stars More dance tracks, less romance December 16, 2008
Format:Audio CD
Cons: I loved "Unpredictable," so I was expecting that same wine and dine romance to lap dance feel, but this album was more about dancing. Foxx has a beautiful voice, but it seems like he was impersonating someone else on "I Don't Need It," which wasn't really necessary. I hate the concept for "Just Like Me" because I'm so opposed to even the idea of singing about justifying cheating, but the video is funny as hell. Taraji Henson was the best choice to do that one, so that video makes me (kinda) like the song. "Number One"s beat was kinda annoying, but I liked the clap-friendly perspective of the song. Somehow I didn't expect Jamie Foxx to work with Lil' Wayne though, so that threw me. But then I hear lines from Foxx like "Got them hundred dollar bills/Girl, I don't rain/I hurricane" and it almost sounds like a singsongy rap. Noooo! Not another one. I like R&B singers that like to do R&B. What's up with Kanye West singing most of the verse to a T-Pain track on "Digital Girl"? "Blame It" sounded like it had a vocoder, but why? Foxx is robbing us of his natural and beautiful voice. I found him using a lot of simplistic lyrics, downgrading his voice a lot on this one, and how unfortunate is that because I'd buy an album from him easy in acapella.

Pros: I would've bought this album regardless because I love "She Got Her Own" and considering that wasn't a bonus track on Ne-Yo's album (you had to buy it on iTunes to get it), I had to have it. You couldn't even buy it as a single, and that song makes my spirit happy. That is absolutely my favorite song of 2008. I gave this CD four stars though because once you got to "Intuition Interlude," then he reminded me of the songs on his last CD and this album picked up immensely.

3.0 out of 5 stars Somewhat Disappointing December 22, 2008
Format:Audio CD
I really like Jamie Foxx but this cd is decent at best. It could have been so much better. The production is all over the place. Also, the vocoder is unnecessary. He does not need to use it since he can actually sing. T-Pain needs it. This cd is definitely different from Unpredictable. That cd was very mature. I feel he regressed a little bit. He didn't need to fall into the trap of doing what other artist's are doing.

5.0 out of 5 stars A DIAMOND (NOT) IN THE RUFF December 16, 2008
By msijg
Format:MP3 Music
Here Jamie is again doing his thing! I only wish Jamie & Keyshia Cole would do something together.

Jamie has always been a great singer and to see yet another phenomenal album come through with a great price in time for the holidays just proves that versatality of this entertainer. This is a man who takes nothing forgranted and made sure to let everyone know that his album is $9.99. Like a few other artists he recognizes that his fans income may be a bit challenged but they should not have to find $15 for an album.

Most importantly-the music-the vocals; IMO there is nothing as seductive as a black man sing but when he can SANG then you must trust and buy this album. There is an edited and explicit version so buy what makes you happy or what the kids can listen to. You can check out videos or live performances of some of the songs on yahoo and you tube. My fav song is

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Good December 26, 2008
Format:Audio CD
For those who seem to think that you must like everything an artist puts out if you call yourself a fan is ignorant. So, you are simply saying that even if the artist puts out complete garbage that you have to like it because you liked his last album. That's just dumb. I liked his last album a lot, but this one is very weak. He should be showing growth from his previous album, and does not. I feel like he is trying to be a 22 year old r&b artist rather than showing his age, experience, and maturity. It's garbage!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not feeling it December 18, 2008
Format:Audio CD
I'm generally a Jamie Foxx, but this CD is disappointing. Jamie is 41 years old now, and maybe I expected songs that reflected his age. This CD makes Jamie come off like a immature boy, and not a man in his 40s.

1.0 out of 5 stars Is it really necessary ? December 16, 2008
Format:Audio CD
Is it just me or does anyone else think that Jamie could sell just as many records without all the trash lyrics. I feel he is an excellent R & B singer I love his voice and musicality. But I can't even play his music in my car with my 7 yr old in the back seat. I just feel it is unnecessary. Why not try Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis next time or Raphael Saddiq for producers. Yeah, I know it's old school but old school is timeless. I saw Jamie on Jay Leno last week and I waited to hear a sample of this new cd and I was not impressed. There are two CDs coming out today that caught my eye. I will be purchasing only one, Anthony Hamilton. At least I can play it around my child and she may even learn something.

3.0 out of 5 stars 3-1/2 stars -- I had to think about this one... November 30, 2009
Format:Audio CD
Everyone knows who Jamie Foxx is: an Oscar-winning actor, and not a bad singer either. But when it comes to his albums, I have to say that he's yet another one of those artists that makes very good SINGLES. Such is the case with his latest album, Intuition.

"Just Like Me" is a pretty interesting song, and although I'm not a big fan of auto-tune, "Blame It" is one of the best tracks. Even so, there are two issues I have with it: 1) the Tonight Show proved that Jamie could sing this song perfectly well WITHOUT using auto-tune (as reviewer P. Duncan said best; more on that later), and 2) even though T-Pain did announce his name before his verse started, could you really tell the difference between his and Jamie's parts? Anyway, the necessary end-of-album keep-your-head-up song "Love Brings Change" actually ends the album nicely.

When I think of missteps, I once again refer to P. Duncan. The fast songs are best catered to men half Jamie's age. In the obligatory song featuring Lil Wayne, "Number One", a sample of Beastie Boys' "The New Style" is used in such a way that it makes the production sound like some rejected Pac-Man background music (Just Blaze produced that???). But the song was already on shaky ground with Wayne making bizarre puns like "Girl if you're gay/I can be your Marvin." (WTF?) And "I Don't Need It" made me say just that. Sexual ballads aren't the best either; well, "Freak'in Me" is tolerable, but I think most people would rather hear Marsha Ambrosius talk about making love, not freakin'. And "Slow" is skippable not only because of that silly "mmm mmm mmm mmm fine" part during the second verse, but also because of lines like "I gotta take my time with you `cause your ish is the ish" and "Ima break that body like a cake". What?
