Hard Rock's Best Kept Secret!!!,
By Berklee Bill "Berklee Bill" (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Intuition (MP3 Download)
I was already "on board" the TNT bandwagon when this disc was released in 1989. But I was not prepared for the sonic onslaught which IS "Intuition!" Well-crafted songs and epic production techniques highlight "Guitar God" Ronni Le Tekrø's blistering guitar work and Tony Harnell's angelic, "out of this world" vocals. This disc quickly gets up to speed! It kicks off with a bang and never lets up until the final cadence. What is a shame is that this CD should have been the effort which "broke" this band in America; TNT should have been as big as Bon Jovi after this release. Sadly, Polydor totally dropped the ball on the band. In summary: This is one of the finest examples of Hard Rock/Heavy Metal from the 80s decade, yet nobody seemingly knows about it? Do yourself a favor and add this GEM to your record collection!!!

Diamond in the Rough,
By "kaluahjeff" (Los Angeles, California United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Intuition (Audio CD)
Intuition may be one of the most overlooked TNT albums (not to mention commercial 80's metal albums). After their breakthrough metal/pop album "Tell No Tales" in '87, they produced this album "Intuition" in '89. I bought the cassette tape a long time ago and was pleasantly pleased with yet another TNT product. This is a fantastic metal album delivering the same great sound of their previous 2 albums, with no shortage of the amazing vocals from one of the best in the biz, leadman Tony Harnell. Complimenting him once again is the phenominal guitar playing of Ronni Le Tekro and bassist Morty Black. Some great tracks on this album include "Intuition", "Forever Shine On", "Take Me Down (Fallen Angel)", and perhaps the hidden gem "Tonight I'm Falling". No filler material here, and that classic TNT sound once again. Bottom line, this is a fantastic follow-up to Tell No Tales, and their last great 80's metal album before TNT progressed to newer and different endeavors. Get this album...

Another solid melodic hard rock gem from TNT,

1989's Intuition was the fourth album from (mostly) Norwegian melodic hard rock band TNT, which featured guitar hotshot Ronnie Le Tekro and vocal powerhouse Tony Harnell. With this album the band continued in the more melodic, radio-friendly approach they started with Tell No Tales, dropping much of their earlier metal edge.Metal or not, Intuition is a pretty terrific album. TNT has always been great at hitting that sweet spot between metal and AOR, and that's where this album is. Their love songs (like "Learn to Love" and "Take Me Down") are just as powerful as their more rocking tracks (like "Caught Between the Tigers" and "Intuition"), and even with the more melodic direction you still get some sweet guitar work from Le Tekro and some crazy high Tony Harnell vocals. Intuition probably isn't an essential TNT album the way Tell No Tales is, but it is a really good melodic rock record that most of the band's fans should check out. Fans of `80s style melodic rock (and yes, hair metal) should also give it a listen.
