For me, by far the hardest thing in life is balancing my own needs with the needs of others. Like many women, I'm prone to over-give. 2.0 out of 5 stars Not on the same wavelength
This book was highly recommended but I could not relate to it. It is about the thinking and writing style, not the subject matter, since Judith Orloff, who covers some of the same territory, is one of my favorites. I can't put my finger on why I could not read her except to say that her style was somewhat non-linear. I gave the books away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enlightening, transformative, entertaining, April 29, 2009
This review is from: The Intuitive Advisor: A Psychic Doctor Teaches You How to Solve Your Most Pressing Health Problems (Hardcover)
For me, by far the hardest thing in life is balancing my own needs with the needs of others. Like many women, I'm prone to over-give. I get to a point emotionally and physically where I need major recuperation and healing. I've learned a lot from Caroline Myss, but more on the abstract scale. Mona Lisa gives practical, actionable steps to transform my mind and my body, for the good of myself and those around me. I'm a much stronger person and friend since reading this book. I feel I've been given powerful tools to change my life, and to help others from a strong place.

I love how specific and doable the information in this book is. It's very concrete and tailored to different chakra issues and various personality types. We are each prone to extremes in different ways. She helps us find the healthy balance in each major area of our life -- our tribe, our love life, our career and love for self.

The first part of the book covers the 7 Rules of Intuitive Health. These are, to me, the key to how our body-mind works. Each rule governs a different chakra and has to do with balancing the issues in your life that the specific chakra governs. They are simple to remember and grounded in reason and common sense. They will be a surprise to many women! But they are truly must's.

In the second part of the book, Mona Lisa outlines the mind-body makeover. It's about how you use your intuition to scan each of your chakras, identify areas of strength and weakness, and balance that area of your life through grounded, actionable steps. For each chakra (area of life) Mona Lisa explains potential problem areas and gives several personality types and how they handle the same situation differently. This is very educational, real-life, and often entertaining material. Depending on the personality type you are, Mona Lisa suggests a mind-body realignment for that area of the body. She also discusses how to relate to a person of that personality type.

The main premise of the book is that our body is our own intuitive advisor. By tuning in to its messages, we can learn what we need to do to stay sane and healthy. Like a dictionary, the book helps you decipher the messages of your body. It helps you learn how to interact with the people in your life in a loving way that doesn't deplete you. I truly believe this is the most important knowledge one can have in this life.

The book is enormously entertaining and informative and reads VERY fast. I have a lot of things underlined and stars all over the place. I have my homework cut out for me! Thank you, Mona Lisa!

5.0 out of 5 stars Chockful of insight, humor and practical advice, June 24, 2009
This review is from: The Intuitive Advisor: A Psychic Doctor Teaches You How to Solve Your Most Pressing Health Problems (Hardcover)
Mona Lisa is the best medical intuitive. Her writing is witty and makes so much sense. She does a wonderful of job of explaining how illness is tied to a chakra and why - how disruption in your life can unbalance the chakra centers causing illness. It is a complete book - not just connections between mind, body & spirit, but what you can actually do to help change the situation. Some books might tell you why you get sick the way you do, but you need the practical way to improve your health and be on the lookout for any problem areas - to become your own intuitive advisor.

This book really has it all - the spiritual side of health issues and basic "western medicine" views..or if that's politically incorrect both a left brain and a right brain approach to illness and healing. I like that because I agree with her approach that the two complement healing - I think her good friend Caroline Myss once said you don't treat cancer with brown rice - and this seems to fit in with Mona Lisa's philosophy - sometimes you have to bring out the big medical guns to get to healing - in addition to addressing and correcting situations that create emotional overload in various areas of your life. She manages to explain her concepts at a level that someone without a medical background can really relate to. (But you'll have to get the book because I can't explain it here the way she can so clearly explain all the details.)

There's so much information that I know I have to read it through again - and besides she's very funny!

Mona Lisa takes an extremely complex subject and makes it uncomplicated, understandable and highly useful. This is no simple accomplishment! Like its author, this book is both extraordinary and brilliant.

5.0 out of 5 stars INVALUABLE INFORMATION, October 6, 2010

If you have the interest in healing your body, or even to understand (on an emotional or energetic level) WHY you have physically developed a particular issue I would highly recommend this book.

The author comes across as being very down to earth, and easy to learn from . Actually, I don't understand the negative reviews here. After reading them they seem like they are coming from a desire to personally bash the author. It's a shame if a personal issue has leaked it's way onto attempting to discredit someone on a professional level like that.

Good luck to everyone reading this review on your journey toward healing. Love and light to you all. I highly recommend this book as well as listening to her free radio show on hayhouseradio.com,and also to find a GOOD acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist. The advice that the author gave me in a reading was absolutely life changing for me. My health has completely transformed within 3 months, and I will always be grateful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, I bought another copy for my parents, September 7, 2010

I learned a great deal from this book and highly recommend it. I saw myself and most everyone I know within these pages and liked it so much that I got her cards, too. Both have been very helpful to me. As far as the nasty reviews go, they're inappropriate for this forum and you only hear one side of the story, hardly fair. Listen to her show on [...] and judge for yourself.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's really just okay, April 19, 2011

I've enjoyed other books by the same other, but this one just seemed to be a repeat of previous works with not too much new that I hadn't heard or read before. It's a little disappointing, but a good introductory book to the emotional issues surrounding one's chakras.

2.0 out of 5 stars myss wanna - be, June 6, 2010
This book was disappointing. The title, first off, is rather misleading.... it doesn't really tell you how to solve your most pressing health problems at all. Truly, Caroline Myss' books and things are what to read if you are interested in learning about intuition and health. Ms. Schultz, seems to be trying to fly on Caroline's coattails. I saw her do a presentation as well; while it was a lively, powerpoint presentation with music, and Ms Schultz seemed to have a good time with it, this too was disappointing; the three of us who attended, all got nothing out of it. Save your money on either; get it from the library or borrow a copy from someone you know.

1.0 out of 5 stars No good Wanna be......., July 6, 2011

Don't waste your time on Mona Lisa Schultz. She is a copy-cat extrodinaire! This woman has even begun to use Caroline Myss dialog and sentences. She is truly a Caroline Myss wanna be!

Years ago I had a medical intuitive reading from her. She acted as if the whole appointment was a huge bother to her. At times it sounded like she was either washing dishes in the background or using her toilet. She was cold and uncaring through the whole reading.

Give her pass, she must be in need of money and has decided to repackage herself. Listen to a current recording of her, she has copied Caroline Myss's line......."does that make sense?" She even mimicks Carolines humor and brassy style of shouting.

Lisa be yourself, be original.......everybody else is already taken! Hopefully, you'll eventually gain a heart!
