I have all of Dr. Northrup's DVDs, videotapes, CDs, books and cassettes. I love how she reminds us of the total mind body connection, rather than trying to get us to follow separate health changes for just our body. Her PBS specials and writings are humorous and informative. And her approach to healing ourselves is always balanced. She never asks you to cut out a food group entirely, she asks you to choose a more healthy approach. I like that she says treat white flour, white sugar items as a condiment and have them on a rare occasion.

She also says treat yourself and every meal you have as though you are dancing with someone you love. Now if we all did that, our meals would be a lot less stressful and so much more enjoyable.

This is the exact same information that is on the Body Talk cassette series (and says so on the front cover.) If you have not purchased this series yet, or want to upgrade it is at a third of the cost of the cassettes, then by this CD set. You will be very glad you did.

As a longitme fan of both Northrup and Schultz I was glad to see a new series appear. I was very disappointed to find out that it was actually a previously issued series reissued under a new name (formerly "Igniting Intuition"). That seems deceptive to me. All that said - I did enjoy the original series a lot, and still relisten to it occasionally.

I wanted to know about the way my body was talking to me about issues of health, esp. fibromyalgia. What I got instead were two women almost constantly interrupting one another. It was very annoying trying to find any useful information at all about fibromyalgia, and I gave up listening to these two after CD #2. I've seen Dr. Northrup on television, and was really looking forward to her perspectives on health, but was sorely disappointed in this collection of conversations between her and Dr. Mona Schulz. I learned almost nothing except not to purchase another set of CD's by these women expecting real meaty, rich information I could put to good use.

Just finished this CD series and the Igniting Intuition one....
I felt very comfortable listening to these two women - two doctors - discuss back and forth the subjects covered. Maybe it is because I have over 25 yrs in the medical field but I felt like I was sitting with two friends in the doctors lounge listening to them brainstorm on different cases and situations.

I found these CDs hugely entertaining, informatative and uplifting. I got it...actually got it....for the first time maybe.

This is what it is....if you read the description. It is not a textbook style obviously but still gets huge amounts of information across to the listener. All my girlfriends/daughters are borrowing my CD at work. None have been disappointed at all. It's not just on female subjects either - wonderful info for both sexes.
I have even scheduled an appt with Dr Schulz....can't wait !!

Bottom line: When you're hurting, get a disease, etc, she says this is your body's way of talking to you (meaning you're working too hard, your family takes advantage of you, you allow things you can't change to eat at you, too much stress). All these things lower your immunity which in turns opens you up to health problems.

There were a few interesting things on the CDs, but not enough to justify the cost & the time it takes to listen to all of them. They would be better divided up by disease (heart, cancer, gut, etc). Since they aren't, spend your money on a book that matches your health concern.

I gave "Intuitive Listening" 4 stars. I find it essential to wellness to have as much understanding as possible of Mind/Body connections. I especially enjoy Dr. Schultz, and I wish she would present a book on tape by herself. I find Dr. Schultz to be brilliant, and I do not tire of hearing her insights. Dr. Northrup has much knowledge too, but many of her interruptions were extremely distracting to me. Yes, some were for clarification, and some seemed to me to be just so she would be heard. For example "back talk and talk back." Also, the carrying on about the "unit" was ridiculous to me. I value the information on these tapes, and I have listened to them numerous times.
Yes, I did find a few of Dr. Northrup's comments to be both insightful and meaningful. However, I mainly wanted to say, "Please hush, and let Dr. Schultz teach." I love the case presentations, and I would love to hear a book on tape by Dr. Schultz of case presentations alone.

What can I say... I've learned so much about myself and listening to my body and.... I've only listened to one CD so far! This set is fantastic.

My problem with this title is the way the material is presented. A few of the other reviewers also said why: They interrupt each other CONSTANTLY.
These women should have talked over BEFOREHAND HOW to do these 5 and a half hours. If it had been done a bit more structured, they could have finished it all in 2.5 hours.
You're already exhausted after 30 minutes and I got a headache! (and not the headache type, imagine). Not possible to do intuitive listening with these two clucking hens. pfffff
Pity, because what they talk about is truly essential.

Intutitive Listening. What could be more important in our lives today. Who better guiding men/woman through this very important area of all our lives. Dr's Northup and Schulz guide us with out "EGO" based learning/teaching. We have here two very skilled woman well educated in the topic. Directed, using no "EGO" delivering the message. Using their own personal lives as examples, years of learning/teaching/helping, searching for them selves as well as all of us, makes this a must have for couples, men, woman. Dr's Northup and Schulz helped in clearing away much of the wonderment in the Body Genius and relationships/partnerships.
Light a fire, pour a glass of wine, sit back and welcome to the wonderment called Igniting Intuition Unearthing Body Genius, you will be happy you did.

All this is is a conversation between the two women. I was hoping to receive enlightening education to deepen my knowledge, but the bulk of the first two CDs (admittedly all I could muster through) were just anecdotal case studies and two women fighting over control of the mic. Save your money -- unless you like to hear inspiring healing stories wrapped in gossipy chatter.
