First Season ..... This anime series tells the story of a 15-year-old girl named Kagome who gets sucked through a portal in her backyard and finds herself in a fanciful version of feudal Japan full of demons and magic. Through a series of confusing events, Kagome releases the legendary half-demon InuYasha, the enemy of her ancestors, from his imprisonment in a tree. He makes an unlikely partner for Kagome, but even still, the two will now travel together, despite not getting along particularly well, so that Kagome can collect fragments of the magic jewel. Others friends such as Miroku the priest and Shippou the fox-demon join the two in their travels to help Kagome find the jewel shards and to keep her and InuYasha from killing each other.......... Second Season ...... Kagome Higurashi is a 15 year old schoolgirl who lives at a history-filled Japanese shrine. She is also the reincarnation of an ancient priestess named Kikyo, who guarded the sacred Shikon no Tama (Jewel of Four Souls), and who sealed away the half-demon Inuyasha who had tried to steal the jewel in order to become a full demon. Kikyo died of her wounds and had the jewel burned with her body. Kagome is one day pulled into the ancient well on her family's shrine and thrown into the past, 50 years after Kikyo's death. She befriends Kaede, the late Kikyo's sister, who realizes Kagome is Kikyo's reincarnation. They are attacked, and learn that Kagome has the Shikon no Tama, but it's actually inside her body! Kagome accidentally awakens the dog-demon Inuyasha, and frees him after the jewel has been ripped from her body. Now Inuyasha wants the jewel back, but Kagome can't let him have it. He is forced (by Kaede's magic) to wear a necklace that allows Kagome to control him with one word, "Sit!", which sends him face-first into the ground. Kagome accidentally shatters the jewel, and now she and Inuyasha have to work together to find all the pieces before they fall into the wrong hands.

Now, this is not the actual season one and two you are thinking of. Yes, you get all the English dubbed episodes of seasons one and two, and they are all legit, don't worry. However. If your like me, you want your anime collection looking all in sequence and nice-like. This duo is not like the other box sets 3-7. They are of a different style, and definitely not as appealing. If all you care about the episodes (which are fantastic) this is perfect for you, it's cheap and you shouldn't have any complaints. InuYasha is a superb show. I would recommend buying this superb show in the single box sets, a little, little, more pricey, but you won't regret it once you get the whole series (which you damn well should). So here you go! I'm very pleased with both seasons. It's a terrific show and brings back great memories. As others have pointed out, these are the English TV versions, so they're very basic. The DVD menu literally consist of Play & Scene Selection. No bonus material or options to watch anything other than the English version. which is honestly just fine by me. This is how I seen it first on TV and it's actually slightly nostalgic for me.
Though if you're more of a die-hard fan that enjoys watching it in Japanese or are interested in any bonus content, then I suggest going ahead and springing for the original box sets. :D

But if you're like me and just looking for simple & cheap, this one's defiantly a great bang for your buck.
