Takahashi has an absolute masterpiece here, in my book. This is the perfect combination of constructed love story (that is, it IS a love story, unlike the out-of-hand romantic wackiness that is "Ranma1/2" and "Urusei Yatsura") and the great strange creatures of the "Mermaid Scar."

Inu Yasha bears a great resemblance to Ranma, from "Ranma1/2," but the resemblance ends with their equal impetuousness, desire to fight, and solid knowledge that they are the absolute best at brawling. They both possess the hidden heart of gold that they hide beneath arrogance, but there is a big difference: Inu Yasha is more open about his feelings. Perhaps this has to do with his being a half-demon and having been in a relationship with a beautiful young priestess. Maybe it is because their relationship ended tragically, hating each other into death, and Kagome is the priestess' reincarnation, dragged through time into feudal Japan. I don't know, but Inu Yasha is a much more willing to admit to having affection than Ranma ever has.

Now, the monster part is great. Much like "Mermaid Scar" and "Rumic Trilogy," there are monsters trying to collect power. There is a soul jewel called the "Jewel of Four Souls" or "Shikon Jewel" that shattered (long story!). This is the best part. Inu Yasha and Kagome must join forces and collect the shards of jewel. This means Kagome locates them, and Inu Yasha battles for them. Why does he want the jewel? Once, he wanted to become human and love the priestess Kikyo; now he wants to become a full demon and never be hurt by a woman again. See? Tender hearted!

They are joined by a small fox demon, Shippô, a flea demon, Myoga, the lascivious Buddhist priest, Miroku, and a demon hunter, Sango.

I personally love this manga. It's the best fantasy manga that I have come across in a long time (er... well, I've been reading "Bastard!" and that's equally good, but for different reasons!). Enjoy it from book 1-11...I know I did!

First off, I want to say that I'm am hopelessly obsessed with Inu-yasha. The only cure is to read it, watch it, and breath Inu-yasha.
Anyway, in this one poor Miroku cut his hand! ...And by doing so, windens the wind tunnel. Will he get it fixed before it sucks him up?...Will he ever be able to defeat Naraku now?....Will he ever get passed second base with Sango?...So many questions, one great volume!!

It's been a while since I'd read any Inu-yasha books, but I got this and found out that I still love them. This book even has a "the story thus far" section and short explanations of the characters, for those of you like me, who need a bit of a refresher. Those two sections would also probably be helpful for those you you who are only just starting the series, although I think it would be much more satisfying to start at the beginning. This book starts where the previous one left off. Inu-yasha, Kagome, and the rest are trying to defeat the false water god. After that, Miroku ends up with problems involving his curse - if those problems are not dealt with, he will die. Then, to make things more difficult for everybody, Naraku has resurfaced and is using Sango's weaknesses against her. As ususal, the storylines were interesting and the artwork was great. Defnitely recommended.

inu yasha is the best because it has alot of action and it is my favorit comic/ show!!!! YOU ROCK INU YASHA!!!!!!

This book is one of my favorites. I'm a huge fan of inu-yasha. And this book is supurb. If you like the Inu-yasha manga you will love the Inu-yasha T.V. show.

Inuyasha is the best book in the history of manga. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a baka! Konnichiwa, if you can't tell I am a big fan of inu, and I am very mad at adult swim for not putting it on on saturdays! You see, I consider myself kagome, botan, kaoru and any other completely weird anime girl, so I would love to go out with a guy like inuyasha, especially the sitting part!

I have read alot of the 'Inu-Yasha' series and they are GREAT! i have also read many other manga and i think that 'Inu-Yasha' is the best series out of all!!

i have ony seen a few episodes of inu-yasha but everone i've seen i liked. it's funny with lots of action. if you buy it you will most likely enjoy it.

A pleasant mix of romance & comedy!the author also made Ramana 1/2!!! sooo- if u like that U'd definitly like this!
