4.0 out of 5 stars Great Fun for fans of InuYasha, April 19, 2003

This review is from: InuYasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale (Video Game)
What this game is not: The next Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat.

What this game is: A fun anime-themed fighting game.

If you are looking for a game that is just plain fun to play, and you are an InuYasha fan, this game is for you. Complete with original Japanese voice work (subtitled of course) it's just a blast to play. It is very much "old school" in style, and if you've ever played anything like Gundam Wing Endless Duel or the *original* Street Fighter II, this is very much along the same idea. Yep, this game is vintage sprite-based action!

You can either play 1 on 1, 2 on 2 (think tag team), against a friend or the computer, and there's even a story mode where you have to gather the jewel shards while fighting battles along the way, playing as either Inu-Yasha or Kagome. In VS mode some of the taglines are priceless... for example when you defeat Shippo, sometimes he'll say something along the lines of "I hope you are proud of yourself for beating a kid!" ^_^;

So if you want a good time without having to spend days memorizing a bunch of new finishing moves, give this game a try.

This review is from: InuYasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale (Video Game)
This game is, in a way, your rather standard fighting, PS1 game. You stand facing your opponent in a 2D environmnent and battle it out. There are several things that make this game better than just your average fighters.

- Duh, it's InuYasha!
- Because it comes from a TV show, there is kind of a plot that goes with it, and it keeps the game more interesting.
- The plot changes as you earn new characters to play with.
- Each character has their own special moves and abilities.
- Hint hint - if you get the game, definitely try to get Kouga. If you use his Demon Wind attack over and over, it's impossible for your opponent to even move. Yeah, it's a little cheap, but that's okay if the other guy's been whippin' [you] all day. Besides that, Kikyo's really the best, but Sesshoumaru rocks too.
- The controls are never hard to remember.
- There are several bonus things to unlock that would really appeal to InuYasha fans, but I'm not going to give away what they are.

4.0 out of 5 stars Suprised the heck out of me, April 18, 2003
This review is from: InuYasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale (Video Game)
I decided to rent this(Thinking it was just another piece-o-[stuff] game Bandi put out just to sell, like DBZ Ultamate Battle 22), But yet it was suprisingly good. And the game was subtitled, instead of dubbed(The american voices are good, but not as good, and as into it as the Japanese Voices).
Pros:
A suprisingly good Battle system
Has the whole inuyasha cast of main characters
It's pretty fun collecting juel shards
Characters have 3 good moves, then one very strong attack
If you love the stories and stuff, then the replay value may be high
2 player mode is pretty fun at times
Sometimes funny was how Some character ends up fighting each other(Like when Kagome didn't have no treats for Shippo)
Cons:
Can't Bandi for once in their lifetime leave the 2D graphics to Street Fighter
When I put the game on normal, it felt like they were on hard
Characters could at least move their mouths while talking

Well, I love Inuyasha the show, and I love this game. If you love Inuyasha, then don't hesitate to pick up this game
