About the Author

Sakuragi's manga debut was in 1994 with Tatoeba Ko-iu Renai Jijyo which appeared in Young Jump Extra Mankaku. Her work also includes My home MIRANO which started serializing in Young Jump in 1996, Jasmin's (Yasumin's) Dance, which was serialized in Young Jump in 2001. In 2004 Inubaka: Crazy for Dogs started its run in Young Jump with issue #43.

Inubaka is one of those strange titles that I always buy, but always hesitate to read because I end up crying. This, I believe, is the first one where that did not happen to me.
I felt bad for poor little Zidane, the overweight French Bulldog, but at the same time, I have been in his owner's place, so that was a little sad but inspiring as well.
Then, we meet a new gentleman, and thus starts the new story arc. I believe his name is Wan Kaw, and he decides to start up a new pet shop, with Woofles as a rival. The rest of the book brings in old characters who don't show up often, like the girl who is working in a hostess club to pay for her dog's medical care, as well as more new characters, like a new male employee for Woofles who isn't all he seems.
So, will Suguri jump ship? Will Lupin ever become accustomed to the new guy? Will it be long before the next book? All these exciting questions will hopefully be answered in book 11! I can't wait!
