I'LL BE SAFE IN MY OWN TIME....RIGHT?,
By Sesho "www.sesho.libsyn.com" (Pasadena, TX USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Inuyasha, Volume 3 (Paperback)
As Inuyasha and Kagome search for the Shikon Jewel shards, they come across a line of women being taken to a local lord and overhear that this lord has been rumored to have been possessed by a demon. What also peeks their interest is that the girls that go to him are never seen again! A clumsy would-be hero named Nobunaga teams up with Inuyasha and Kagome to rescue a princess from this possessed man. Kagome has to return for entrance exams in her own time and thinks that she doesn't have to worry about demons in 90's Japan, but a human devouring "Mask of Flesh" comes seeking the shards, leaving headless bodies in its wake. We are also introduced to Shippu, the cute fox demon who wants the jewel shards to avenge his father who was killed by two demon brothers called the Thunder Brothers who are also seeking the pieces of the sacred jewel. The manga version of Inuyasha is a little bloodier and more mature than the anime and that is a good thing. To me, this version is just as entertaining as the animated take. The horror is scary, the jokes are funny, and the adventure, heroism, and romance all feel authentic. Rumiko's fine art and warm storytelling talent make this volume another winner!

My first InuYasha Manga,
By D.F. Dream "~ Andrew" (Pennsylvania, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Inuyasha, Volume 3 (Paperback)
Being a fan of the InuYasha anime, I have been wanting to collect the series in manga format since I tend to enjoy stories better that way. VIZ, the American publishers of InuYasha, has made these newer versions of the manga which have nicer covers and are set up to read the normal way from left to right. While I was a bit worried about these changes when I picked up # 3, it didn't really bother me one bit when I actually read it.The manga has two full stories in it and it begins the fight with the thunder brothers at the very end. The first story is about this emperor who has been acting strangely and the second one is about a cursed mask. It wasn't typical InuYasha-style, but it still cool. I would have to say that the first story was a bit more interesting than the second one though. There was plenty of content crammed into the graphic novel, and the artwork is very nice - I will read it many times to come. Of course, every manga has its downsides. One thing about VIZ that I don't like is the way their ink copiers don't copy dark enough on some pages sometimes, and like I mentioned they add too much American content to stories by changing the cover's design and sometimes even making it read Western style. VIZ has published some good mangas though, and they don't seem to mess with animation or writing too much.

Inuyasha Volume 3,
This review is from: Inuyasha, Volume 3 (Paperback)
This book was good in the typical Inuyasha style. There was a touch more nudity than usual, so if you are hyper-sensitive to that sort of thing, you may want to skip it. Despite that minor snag, I personally found this one to be very enjoyable, funny and well-written.

Excellent Manga,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Inuyasha, Volume 3 (Paperback)
Inu Yasha is an incredibly well writen series. It has everything, action, drama, comedy, and some romance as well. The plot is also great, it's not completely dark nor is it completely light either, it's very balenced an knows when not to take itself too seriously. Also this manga is not demeaning to women, despite what people may say. In fact Inu Yasha is, if anything, empowering to women. The three main female leads, Kagome, Sango, and Kikyo, are by far the most powerfull characters in the series. Every male character in Inu Yasha is portrayed as being either evil, lecherous, or a complete idiot, or sometimes all of the above. Also Inu Yasha was written by a woman so why would the author make it demeaning to females. Inu Yasha is a series for both genders, and if you haven't checked it out yet then give it a shot, I can guarantee you wont be sorry.

This is a multiple story volume that makes it really good. Read this one and you gotta keep on going! There are a lot of books in this series, so if you're here you should go slowly(I've read up to 24 and I've gone way too fast)Have fun reading!(0_^)

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Inuyasha, Volume 3 (Paperback)
Inuyasha is great! Rumiko's ability to draw/write manga is amazing! Fantasy with realistic situations, and of course, situations belonging to Inuyasah alone, makes this manga addicting, as well as the characters, of couse with romance thrown in along the way! All in all, Inuyasha is a great manga, addicting every step of the way!

I bought this manga for myself awhile back and just bought one for my best friend's birthday and she loves it! We both have been big fans of the InuYasha series since we were young teenagers and this manga has WONDERFUL art and an AWESOME storyline! It has alot of ancient Japanese mythology and we LOVE IT! This series is very fun, entertaining, neat, creative, charming, and enjoyable. It has action, horror, romance, drama, comedy, EVERYTHING! A great buy! We are very satisfied customers!
